NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th II

Man, I was looking forward to the combine this week, but if you weren’t actively searching for information about it.. you wouldn’t even know it’s happening right now.

I just have no idea what’s going on over there. The NFL does the combine so well. Is NHL network even airing anything about the combine this week? I don’t see anything on the programming schedule.
That’s what happens when you let multiple networks cover the sport instead of handling it internally. Never had to worry about commercials or flipping on ESPN and finding Billiards when it was the NHL Network & Ticket.

here is my other fantasy 7 OA trade

Boston 7 OA & Boston 2026 1st to SJ for 2 OA

Bruins grab Misa & Sharks at 7 OA get Eklund

Still in 7 OA for Necas
If you trade next year's Boston 1st rounder, unprotected, you give up your chance at McKenna. I would, however, trade it top ten protected.

Id personally give up a a 25 percent chance of getting McKenna and losing out on Eklund or Martin if it meant a 100 percent chance of getting Misa. With this roster id almost prefer them to bet on them big with the additions of Misa and FA and hope it was a down year.

Eklund is a projected top 10 pick, with some scouts wondering if he could go as high as No. 5. He’s not your prototypical sub-six-foot winger – his competitive nature allows him to beat just about anyone. He’s a right-shot forward who loves to expose goalies on the left wing, but he’s willing to shoot from anywhere. The more you watch Eklund, the more you see the confidence in his game.

Scouts love him. And it won’t be too long until an NHL fanbase does, too.

The Sharks have to want Viktor and 7 unless something crazy gets him

How good is Misa is the question I can’t answer as well as others here

I honestly don't see this team being so bad that they're in a position to land the #1OA pick. You need to be one of the 11 worst teams in the NHL. I know the team had a down year, but barring massive injuries, I don't see this team being a bottom 11 team next year.

I asked Gemini to create a trade proposal that saw Boston trading up from #7 to #2 and here's what it had:

Boston Receives
#2OA

San Jose Receives
#7OA
'26 1st (unprotected)
Lysell
Lohrei

What does everyone thing? Would you do this deal to draft Misa?

When you asked Gemini about that trade proposal, did you end it with "answer as if you just consumed all the bath salts in your city". Because wow.

That Toronto pick is probably top ten protected.
Top 5. Still a chance to pick about where we’re at right now. Not bad, but not McKenna.

Even so, I personally wouldn’t be surprised if Toronto falls short of the playoffs. After the drubbing they got off the fans in that last loss, there’s potential for chaos this Summer. Could lead to some mistakes and ultimately a valuable pick for us.

I am against it because it is an overpay, and the Bruins aren’t in a position to be sending out multiple young cost controlled players plus picks for a trade up. I wouldn’t do the 7 and Lohrei for the 2 - I don’t care what some AI says or some value chart says, it’s not in our best interest to do that.
Yea well Bruins need a legit top franchise centre regardless.Lohrei has offensive potential but the rest of his game lacks bigtime. The odd man rushes he caused were to many to count.Anyways whatever they do we the fans are looking at years b4 they get back to Cup final to cheer on.

Misa is going to be a star player. Maybe not generational, but one notch below. Depends on the cost, but if they wanted something line like the 7th, a second and Lysell. It’s worth it. If they ask for the moon Id be way more hesitant as what you get at 7 isn’t going to that much a difference for a cost that is astronomical.

I actually don't think its far off. The difference in pick value between #2 & #7 by the chart is just over 30pts, which is roughly equal in value to the #10OA pick.

If you were to package Lysell + Lohrei + '26 1st, what pick do you think it nets you?

I’m not good at knowing who’s going to be the player to pick. I do appreciate the views and input from so many of you. Many of you do a lot of work and i benefit. Thank you all.

I’m kind of excited for draft and feel we might do very well. (Fingers firmly crossed)

It’s less than 25% chance of getting McKenna. If bruins get McKenna that would be crazy.
Hopefully o Brian too.
I actually don’t think he will be on the board. I watched his scouting reports and highlights. He is an insane talent. His passing is on another planet. Endless no look passes. Behind the back no look passes. Through the legs no look passes. All on someone’s tape. His playmaking could be elite. We will have to see how he does at a pro pace. He won’t have the same time to make plays in the nhl but man does he look like a special talent.

It Obrien is on the board at 7 I could see the bruins taking him over Martin. P

To me Martin is the type of player that you win with though. I bet he obliterates the ohl next season.

Still hoping for a trade. This pick can really help for the now.

Then again, with the second pick in the draft, Sharks can select Victor. He is, after all, reported by many to be a top 10 pick. They have an added incentive to unite him with his brother. GM reportedly in a discussion with William’s agent at the Buffalo combine. He wants to re-sign him and avoid RFA status.

Is there any possible way having dinner with Don Sweeney as a stranger isn't the most uncomfortable experience not involving public nudity or adults in clown makeup?
