NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th II

I wouldn't even call this making a case for McQueen. You gave no evidence that he deserves to be picked this high and I have no idea why you think he has more offensive potential than the other 3 guys you mention. It certainly doesn't show up in the highlights or stat sheet. Back injury or not McQueen will never be a top 6 forward in the NHL. I wouldn't take him in the top 20.
Agree with you ! I
Just don’t know where to see this amazing potential ?? A 6,5 guy taller bigger and older than other juniors who get 1 pt a game ??? Sorry NO

If the bruins take Eklund I fully expect Lysell to take second line right wing next season and then eventually Eklund will replace him. Good problem to have

RM down in Providence btw said Lysell’s skill set translates better to NHL. I had that view when watching his final stretch here vs my live views in Springfield and Hartford shortly after so good to hear Mougenel has the same perspective. Check out his interview with hockey hub
Wasn’t Lysell AHL Playoff health scratch?

Good junior career, Fantastic playoff run,
But Lysell has done nothing playing against men.

1st round bust, it happens

Re-read my post

His own coach says his skill set fits the NHL better, and that was on display between the games he came up and the games I watched him live in Springfield and Hartford

I’ll call him a bust when he doesn’t make the team at any point this coming season. As of now he’s got all the tools and his skating is lights out. 21st overall and 22 years old.

You might want to not dole out so many of your bust cards yet with all the picks the bruins have in the cupboard now

The kid can bury the puck from replays I watched on him.No hesitation and accurate.I am rooting for him where ever he lands
His east west game is what I like the best. Guys his size don’t generally have that kind of east west maneuvers. He has high end offensive upside no question in my mine. Too bad about his health. I probably still wouldn’t take him with the 7. I won’t be mad if they do though.

I want: Brady Martin, Eklund, OBrien, Frondell, Desnoyers or Hagens.

But based on what are you saying McQueen can be a #2 on a Championship team? simply because he is big?

I mean I’m sure we have all read the same reports and watched the same videos. He obviously has exceptional physical traits, not just the size but the skill to go with it.

I wouldn’t be shocked at all if McQueen wows guys at combine and someone takes him in the top 6. My money is on Philly or Utah

His name and flow fits right in with Philly. Sounds and looks like a big bastard from the 70’s just needs the mustache
Word is the Philly coach wants Brady Martin. Wonder how management feels about him.

It will be interesting to see what happens at #4, and if Armstrong even keeps the pick. I think Utah has a deep enough prospect pool and young roster that they could be fine with drafting McQueen.
I would love to draft down and pick up McQueen and get a solid young roster player. Maybe trade with rags and get cuylle and McQueen might land at their spot.

If I knew for sure the Rangers would trade us Cuylle for pick 7 and MacQueen would fall to us at 12 then I would 100% do that trade.I have no crystal ball though Donny lol

Donny has to milk that 7th overall pick pick a gem of hit 2 birds with one stone. He cant mess this up. This is a huge turning point for the franchise.
I think the Bruins make that pick myself but that proposal u said would help Bruins if it could happen.Cuylle had 20 goals 45 pts in 82 gms & plays a heavy game. The key would be MacQueen still on the board but it is to much of a gamble..Again, Bruins make the pick so let's hope for a homerun.

You're putting too much stock in that. Anyone who misses most of the season is not likely to come in and light it up from the time they start playing again. I think the fact that he got to point a game in those games is actually quite impressive considering an injury he was coming back from

Depending how the combine goes I wouldn't be shocked to see the following top 6 selections.
Schaefer
Misa
Martone
McQueen
Frondell
Martin

That would leave us Hagens, Desnoyer and Eklund to choose from. Who would you pick?

After some more scouting i think i may be leaning away from hensler. He seems like a rock solid #4 with #2 upside still and would be happy with the pick but this kashawn aitcheson dude…this guy is nothing but monster shots, huge hits, knocking people out in scraps, and taunting road crowds. This guy seems like a very fun player. I can see a bit of risk in a player like him since he seems like a maniac, but he could be johnny boychuk type of guy, or kyle mclaren. 2 of my favorite defensemen. Thats my new #1

Islanders - Schaefer
Sharks - Misa
Chicago - Martone
Utah - Desnoyers
Nashville - Hagens
Flyers - Frondell
Bruins - ????
One of
O’Brien
Eklund
Martin
McQueen
