NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th II

I agree. Thats why i think ive convinced myself that they gotta go defensemen. Too many forwards will be available at 7. Anyone from 3rd to 8th or 9th ive seen or heard as potential bruins picks at 7. That tells me that after the top 2 its a complete guessing game on which players should go next. Theres no way all of them will be great and theres no way that sweeney will find one of the ones that will be. He’ll find one of the other ones. But a defensemen, and the #2 defensemen in the draft in all probability…sounds like a safer bet. I want a good player at 7.
Many reports on second waves of def…say they have problems with puck decisions

I will make it simple just for you
You can’t justify bruins taking a guy projected later by saying « all choices are a risk »
Clear or need a draw ?
Ok. But was talking about the second part - Sweeney hasn’t really reached much since 2015, and even the few you could technically call a reach, two hit (Lohrei/Frederic). Complete misconception about his drafting.

Totally agree
Huh?

Agree. The only real reach in 2015 was Senny, and rumor was that Edmonton was taking him with the next pick and Toronto was very interested in him as well. Zboril was a bust, but he was taken where he was rated and Jake was close to where he was rated, and he's been a solid top 6 winger. He also got NHL dmen with 2 of his 3 2nd rounders, Carlo (2nd pair dman) and Lauzon (3rd pair dman), and Vladar in the 3rd. He got a solid NHL dman in the 2nd round the next year in Lindgren.

The last guy we heard someone describe as “violent” ended his season in the ECHL and went minus 3 in 7 games. I can’t begin to list the amount of players I’ve seen described as “having a mean streak” “aggressive” “plays the body”…..bullshit. They make pro and you’d swear they were the second coming of Mahatma Gandhi.

I would LOVE a big, mean, dirty player that could also contribute offensively, but that’s rarer than a hen’s tooth. Let’s get a guy that we’re confident can put up some points and leave the fantasy for another time.

Super rare. Martin can score. He has a nasty one timer and a really nice wrist shot. I’m bias because I love power forwards with high end defensive play.

I’d be happy with anyone in the top 10 really. They all seem good in their own ways. I’ve seen all the YouTube scouts and highlights :p. I’m practically a scout myself at this point (insert sarcastic emoticon here)

Reached on kid with Boston College but that size sure would give a GM hope down the road he turns into a force.Way to early to knkw what he is yet.Who went ahead of him I cant remember but sure it was a steal

No way I trade that 7 for Rossi. They do that it's a good way to turn fan base on you.Lets relax and let Bruins brass hit a homerun with that pick
I'm biting my nails here . This is Donny we talking about. His problem is arrogant at times and oversmart . Hope he just go with nhl draft rankings and not go off board.

Most of the reports ive read on hensler alluded to to that as well. However most say he doesn’t make confident decisions, he makes safe ones. When he carries the puck with confidence it usually works out well for him. Hes too quick to make a quick safe play instead of a bold one. I think for one of the youngest players in his league, playing on a bad team, it might be pretty natural to want to play it ultra safe more often than not. Might make him undervalued if thats his weakness thats dropping him. I read that and i read untapped upside

What would you estimate the chances are of the #7 pick being a better player than Rossi? 60 points as a 23 year old is pretty impressive. The size is a valid question (especially in the playoffs) but it hasn't hindered him thus far. He has also played 82 games each of the past two years. I don't follow the Wild enough to know why he only averaged 11 minutes TOI in the playoffs but that also raises questions. Then there's the matter of him due a big raise. All that to say, I think there's a decent chance #7 for Rossi would be a win for the Bruins (especially with the uncertainty in this year's draft) but, if Sweeney was going to trade the pick, I'd probably prefer he aim for someone else...I just have no idea who that would be that might actually be available.
