WC: 2025 Czech Team

Quick glance..

Pasta leads team in scoring!

We are second in goals with 20.. Canada has 21

We are first in our pool and have a win over Swiss who are second. Three point cushion on USA.

When we play Kazakhstan.. Germany plays USA in a huge game for placement.

Klapka is in the lineup

We still have one spot.. maybe Hertl.. maybe Kampf?

Only thing pissing me off is lauko may be hurt and I love lauko. He's like Kenny from South park.. everyone keeps killing him.

Was reading and pasta and cervus are 1000% right. the attendance has been horrible this whole tournament. Y put it in places people aren't going to show up in?

Canada gets U20 every other year or more. Time to come up with a Prague formula where we are 1 in 3. Czechs have every attendance record in Europe ainec

Sorry for the low attendence. I had free tickets to Canada-France and Austria-France, live 10 minutes from the arena, but still decided not to go. I think club-football has the main interest here in Stockholm right now, no Stockholm-club in the highest division since 2021/2022, and on top of that I think the promotion and advertising of the wc has been almost non-existing here.

Danes on this board have said that Herning is more of a hockey place than Copenhagen, people there are more hockey fans. If that is true then that is a very sad indictment of the Danish hockey scene.
As I already said, it is disgrace. At least Copenhagen is an interesting and big city you probably would like to visit, and not only go there for hockey purposes. Seriously, who wants to see Herning? And If I am not mistaken, there's also not international airport in Herning. Sure, now, after 1 week, we all see what kind of hockey town Herning is, lol. This should be the last time the WHC is held in Denmark.

Both Lauko and Kundratek trained today so they should probably be okay. Good News

Worse news about Hertl, him passing the medical check will probably be close to a miracle, so almost sure no Hertl
Klapka did take Lauko's spot on line 4.lol

Something tells me nothing will stop Lauko from suiting up but I'd give him the day off against Kazakhistan personally.

Keep refreshing twitter for a Hertl update.lol

Kampf is a healthy scratch again tonight. Go cats go.. I bet he's dying to fly out and I'm sure Toronto has a great direct flight to Denmark!

I reall hope one of them comes, eventhough Hertl might have questionable performance if somehow injured and Kampf questionable performance because he played one game in last two months. But still we need them to fill that 2C spot ...

M.Spacek is really our weakest player so far and he is absolutely killing Necas nad Zadina in the 2nd line who are playing great. I watched them yesterday against Hungary and 80% of those 2nd line actions ended with Spacek .. guy havent made one single good play even against weakest team at the tournament lol.

So either Hertl or Kampf > send him to 2nd line and Spacek to the stands please

Exactly. I was surprised from the beginning that M. Špaček is in the lineup at all and he confirms with every match that his nomination was a mistake. I don't believe that Hertl will come to the championship, there is nothing to indicate that, plus it is a big rink and that never suited Hertl, but Kampf is a good skater, he played with Nečas in the same line last year and compared to Špaček it would be a big improvement in the lineup.

Michael Špaček is always good in league regular season and at the EHT tournaments. Then he underperforms both in the league play offs and at the WCH if he makes the team. That's been a rule, year after year. He is a swift and nifty skater but critically lacks physical strength and his decision making is somewhat slow, contrasting with his speedy skating. I guess this WCH has been his last chance and so far he has been a disappointment once again. The intensity is simly too much for him. Intensity isn't all just about skating. Ondřej Beránek or Jakub Flek are both rather short guys too but they both are simply much stronger in physical battles.

Well I am geniunely pissed about this lol. Hertl is out, Kampf probably also, cause I think Leafs will win that game 7. Even if we bring Cernoch he will not take Spacek place, Rulik is too stubborn for that, so it will only cause Klapka to end up on the stands again.

And we f***in need that 2C .. Spacek is weak, and without that 2C I dont think we can win this tournament. Its the most crucial spot in our lineup now and we just dont have anyone good there.

Imagine Kulich there right? Yeah f*** you Buffalo, really f*** you to eternity lol. I hope that your silly little organization will never advance to PO again.

With what we have I would probably do something like this:
Cervus - Sedlak - Pasta
Zadina - Necas - Klapka
Lauko - Vozenilek - Flek
Beranek - Kodytek - Stransky - Cernoch - and rotate Stransky with Cernoch here

Send Spacek to the nacho line, caus that guy is nowhere near WCH level.

But of course it will be like this:
Cervus - Sedlak - Pasta
Zadina - Spacek - Necas
Lauko - Vozenilek - Flek
Beranek - Kodytek - Stransky - Cernoch

And Klapka in the stands and we will have only one scoring line and Necas completely drown with useless Spacek

Just giving my two cents...Spacek is a player that needs to have a lot of possesion/puck touches in order to be effective. I thought he looked really good against Switzerland with Zadina and Vozenilek. Then Necas comes in and he wants to have the puck all the time (rightfully so). I'd have Necas-Vozenilek (= Eric Robinson )-Zadina and let Spacek run his own line with Flek and Lauko. It's such a shame Kubalik opted to take a break this year. We could have had Necas-Kubalik and Spacek-Zadina duos on separate lines.

Still in first! Got the W on Swiss so that is good too. US can overtake us with a clean victory though. They have Kazakhs and us left. So they still got a great chance at 2nd in pool. Germany, did not do as well as I thought they would as they lost both big games against Swiss and USA. They have us next. That should be a very good game!

Pity Klapka is a pure winger. If he had experience with playing in the middle, I would say, put them on M.Špaček's place and that's it. Under current circumstances: Maybe try to move Zadina to the C (he is quite capable od playing that position) and Klapka to his spot on the wing?

Anyways: Congratulations to Roman Červenka who scored a hat trick in his 100th WCH game and passed Ilya Kovalchuk for the top WCH scorer after the year 2000. What a nice coincidence for him.

This is nice too! Obviously, we went through a softer part of the schedule so everything is inflated. Germany and USA next and then a quarter. The soft part is over.lol

Yes exactly ... just find spot for Klapka and get rid of Spacek .. its the only logical thing to do right now

As for the game after that bad 1st period it was very good, lots of goals etc. etc. ... but that PP needs to be seriously better ... the pressure is there, but the finishing is really poor .. that can cost us against stronger oponents

If I calculate correctly we need at least 2 points to be safely 3rd ahead of Germans and at least 4 points to be safely 2nd ... hope we dont f*** up that game with Germany, their last two games showed they are really not that good, so we should win this one

Then steal at least one from USA ... but that will be extremely hard, Swiss lucked out to get them early, we are unlucky to have them last, when they usualy play 100% better then at the start of the tournament
