WC: 2025 Czech Team

I wonder if Rulík still think that Switzerland is the biggest favourite for gold lol

No Josi hurts them but looks like a hell of a squad coming in! Canada is now stacked. USA looks strong on paper. Things got complicated.lol Get Necas on that plane and tell him to bring Gudas.lol

On paper, the Swiss roster is maybe a little weaker than a year ago, maybe... Josi was absolutely a key player. But there's Ambuhl, and he's the real Swiss treasure.:)

Yeah they sure will be good again, but I would still think them as a 5th in line for gold on paper

Sweden, Canada, USA, Czechs, Switzerland, Finland would be my guess as for chances for gold

I love Rulík, but this take is rather strange. Swiss have two amazing players coming from NHL, but so have other top teams and even more, and their euro core is just not as good as ours or Sweden, Finland imo

They will be good, but not at all biggest favourites.

I'm just a little nervous about the goalkeepers, neither Karlos nor Vladař were in top form in the EHT matches in Brno. I believe they will improve in the tournament. Lukáš Dostál was fantastic last year, hopefully the boys will follow his performance.

We were better in EHT this year than last. Last year we got booed off the ice after losing all 3. I can't remember how Dostal did but I assume poorly?

My big fear is C and D. Thrilled with G and W. Go figure.lol

Put USA behind us and finland.
They always choke no matter what
Fin over swiss

It was more based on strength on the paper .. USA just got Werenski, so I would maybe put them even in front of Canada right now lol .. based purely on strength on paper

I strongly disagree. Based on rosters as they stand, Canada is definitely better. That does not mean US could not beat them, but looking purely on quality of rosters, Canada have an edge. And to me it is pretty clear, have a look once more...

That's right. Canada has an even stronger team on paper.
I didn't think the rosters would end up being this strong, but this will end up being an exceptionally well-filled championship by normal standards.

You guys absolutely have enough talent to go far, even to beat this Canadian team
Before that announcement I felt we had the best offensive forward in the tourney. I don't think that anymore.lol But thank you. I do expect a good tourney from us and like the team. Lot of my favs on it and some new guys I want to see. Just hope Necas gets clearance this afternoon!

Yeah still no info about Necas, starting to be a bit worried, but hopefully its nothing and they will announce him this evening.

I'd say we are sending a very good squad. All our key guys are at or near their peak too.. hronek, vej, pasta and necas are all in top form and around 28.

But, for sure, on paper.. we look weaker.
I am worried about our bottom 6 and D tbh, I think we are missing just about two top players in offense and two good defenders to look good on paper.

But anything can happen

I'm mainly worried about who will play center for Neči (I hope he will go), there has been no positive news for too long. Špaček has never performed anything really good in the national team and they are probably counting on him as the second center.
