WC: 2025 Czech Team

Someone needs to get me a photo of Kondelik/Klapka/Vladar standing with Flek/Kodytek/Tichachek. We probably have the 3 tallest and 3 shortest players in tourney.lmao
 
Špaček as 2C will be... fun. Him and Kodýtek over Kovařčík and Černoch is unexpected, but I don't think it makes the team much worse. The C core was gonna be weak regardless.
The LDs are the real weakness of the team though, Ticháček and Hájek will have to find their form quickly.
Suprised by Zadina, though I don't think he will actually suit up.

Assuming Necas goes.. who do you guys put him with? I assume he'll be split from Pasta?

Pasta is probably Sedlak and Cervus to start.

Beranek - Kondelik - Vozenilek - Stransky (sub Kodytek - I am pretty sure he will be the 3rd C lol, but I just refuse to have him in there lol)

Idk just put some lines toghether ... but I really dont like Necas wasted with Spacek and Zadina lol .., but who to put there? Suck so much Kubalik isnt going ... second line: Kubalik - Klapka - Necas could be really amazing lol
 
Its really hard to predict something in the attack this year, because the obvious: Pasta, Cervus, Necas, Sedlak stands out, but the rest are kinda at a close level toghether and almost anyone can play everywhere and with everyone there lol

The lines depend on whether Nečas plays wing or center.
Wing:
Červenka - Sedlák - Pastrňák
Klapka - Špaček - Nečas
Lauko - Kondelík - Stránský
Beránek - Kodýtek - Flek
Voženílek

Center:
Červenka - Sedlák - Pastrňák
Klapka - Nečas - Stránský
Beránek - Špaček - Flek
Voženílek- Kondelík - Lauko
Zadina

Overall not a bad team, not great either, but medal is realistic with a bit of luck. Obviously Pasta, Necas, Hronek and Vej are huge boosts, but after them a lot of guys are missing too, maybe too much.

D will be the obvious weakness, which is kinda sad, because we are really missing only 2-3 guys from our potential OG squad next season and it already looks average at best lol

I see what Seb and Miri did up there. I tend to agree. Make him a 2C and see how it goes? Or toss him on W and let him fly? Can Spacek handle 2C?

I like yours better then mine lines lol, but I doubt Zadina will be out of lineup in any of those scenarios, whether it is good or not, I rather not say lol

I question our C depth too... it's not very good. I like all the players playing C but it's not a strength at all. We are built on Wingers and Goalies... same as it ever was.lol

Makes me wonder if they give Necas the C spot. He's always wanted it.

Our D will suck at Olympics but our C depth will be pretty good.. Hertl, Zacha, Kulich and Kampf is my guess today. now imagine if we had gotten Kulich.. he'd fix that top 6 instantly.lol

Yeah f*** stupid Buffalo and AHL lol ... Kulich would be a beaut, but so would be Kase, Tomasek, Kubalik ... Palat also not going eventhough he could ... he would also fix the first two lines, cause he can easily play there

Too many names missing sadly ... cause guys like Beranek, Stransky, Vozuch, Kondelik, Spacek etc. are good, but are they good enough to carry the team in playoff against USA, Canada, Sweden? Sure lot of those guys was there last year, but lets be honest, who really made those playoff games? Who was differential there, NHL players and then exactly the absolute top euro guys like Kase, Kubalik etc.

I mean these guys I mentioned above are good, they are very good, but the are just not top euro players, we have a hole there this year sadly

Tomasek is a good C too!

But I really do like this team. Necas seems closer than I had dreamed and I was positive this would be no pasta and necas worlds.

I like the roster selections, not gonna complain. I was also surprised to hear Kodytek's name, but this is not the move that will 'make or break' this team, obviously. Good for Kodytek, he seems to be pretty versatile player, so they can slot him almost anywhere if needed.

It's no-brainer to wait for end of the 2nd round. Hertl is playing some of the best hockey in his career, but also Kampf would be nice addition to this team, even if he's currently not playing, that's not a problem in his case. Laughton's arrival in Toronto has put Kampf out of the line-up... unfortunately.

Jiri Slegr (Czech GM) on possible Necas addition:
Firstly, I've contacted Avs GM whether it is even possible for Necas to play on the WHC. His answer was positive, then I called right to Necas. He once again confirmed his interest in playing on the WHC. On tuesday he will have medical check-up, and if everything is okay, he should join the team as soon as possible.
