WC: 2025 Czech Team

Damn losing both Kempny and Kundratek is a huge hit for our already not so impressive D :( Love to have Tichacek back, but lets be honest .. D will be a huge problem in this tournament ...
Well, Hronek is up there among the best defensmen in the tournament. Few enough teams have a differencemaker like that.

Yeah there is Hronek, Spacek adn Krejcik .. but then it goes rapidly down ,, I am not saying those guys like Gazda, Tichacek, Kostalek, Hajek etc. arent good, but idk how will they keep up against NHL players

Maybe time to call up Zboril after all

If we really lost both of these defenders, then this is a big weakening of the team. Ticháček probably won't be enough physically, Gazda has skating shortcomings and the game is played on a large rink. I hope at least Kundrátek can handle it..

Am I going to be like the only one Czech fan, who at the same time is not Avs fan, but will cheer for Necas & Colorado to advance tonight?

Trying to think about what are the odds for Necas joining the team if they lose tonight... It was pretty crazy season for him, and he was battling some injury before start of the play-offs, so who knows. I think chances of him coming are not that high this year.

Neat sidenote: we won the EHT.lol.
Some people are still trying to sell it (or maybe some even believe it) like if EHT is some more or less serious competition to play for, to care about... when it is in reality glorified preparation. Nobody gives a **** about who wins it, or about the results.

I really like R. Zaruba but think he's among them, too. Although, it may be somewhat understandable when EHT games are among the only hockey events that Czech TV still broadcast through the year, together with Maxa liga. Well, actually it is sad and not for laugh... at least we still have WHC on Czech TV.

I value the eht about as much as I value local house league scores.lol.

But it is nice to see us winning things.

I doubt there is any correlation between winning eht and winning worlds.

Without seeing a single match, I wished Nečas. That it wouldn't end up like it did in the end. And the fans would make a fool out of him. As is already happening now.

Why would he not come? He himself + Rulik with Slegr, already said that they counting with him and that he wants to come

So unless he somehow got injured in the series, i dont see any reason why he should not be ready for the opening game on friday

@Goodman68 - I dont understand, who is making fool of him? Like Avs fans or something?

There are more of those threads. And a lot of people write that Nečas disappeared from the ice in PO (unlike Rantanen, of course), etc.

Such a cruel loss for Necas and Colorado, after leading 2-0, they had to watch, of all players, Rantanen destroy them with hattrick in the 3rd period of game 7, lol. Colorado have traded Rantanen to eastern conference, so they don't have to deal with him, and this is how it ends. Incredible. Add to that Dallas played without Heiskanen and Robertson for the whole series.

Now let's see what happens in regards to the WHC, not sure how quickly he recovers from this...

I hope he will come, if he is healthy I am sure he will come. He has a great attitude towards NT, always wants to represent, said himself he will come if available. Only thing that can screw this up is if he has some hidden injury or something and he will not pass the medical check. Can happen of course, but I believe it wont be the case

And I also think he will recover pretty quickly, he surely must be extremely dissapointed now, but he is a professional athlete adn they know how to deal with such situations. So him not being motivated or something should not be an issue also.

In the 3rd period Necas awkwardly fell to the boards, and seemed to be in a lot of pain while still on the ice. He obviously finished the game and also played in dying seconds, but again it was game 7, so... We should find out soon about his health status (tonight).

Yes, he should know how to handle it, but don't understimate the greatness of this loss. This appears to be the biggest loss for Colorado in modern history (in MacKinnon/Makar era).
