WC: 2025 Czech Team

Current roster (after latest roster cuts):

Filip Pyrochta (BK Mladá Boleslav), Jan Košťálek (HC Vítkovice Ridera), Jiří Ticháček (Rytíři Kladno), Tomáš Kundrátek (HC Oceláři Třinec), Radek Kučeřík (Ässät Pori, Finsko), Michal Kempný, Jakub Krejčík (oba HC Sparta Praha), David Špaček (Iowa Wild, AHL), Filip Hronek (Vancouver Canucks, NHL), Daniel Gazda (Ilves Tampere, Finsko).

Útočníci:

If Pasta "version 2025" also arrives, we don't have to be afraid of anyone 😂 Last year, Sweden had a stellar defense (Hedman, Karlsson, Dahlin, etc.) and we scored 7 goals vs them 😂 It's a pitty we don't have euro stars like Tomášek and Kaše, but I completely understand the reason for both of them not participating. Anyone else coming from NA is always just a bonus 👍😂

Last year, the USA had strong players in the 1st and 2nd links, the rest of the hockey players are below average, this year the composition is more balanced, all 4 links will determine the game. The goalkeepers at this World Championships are much stronger than at the last one.

Kubalik, Tomasek and O.Kase are a huge hit into our forward groups. I stand by the opinion, that they are just absolutely elite european players. All three are in top 20 euro players from all euro leagues imo. Kubalik and Tomasek maybe even top 10.

Kase is the best one there. By far.

So I do t think that is a stacked USA team. Maybe swayman and maybe tage make Olympic team? Neither made 4 nations... Did anyone on this team? Looks like a team C.

I get your point that it is better on paper than us and would be stacked by Czech standards. Of course. But it isn't stacked by USA standards IMO.

Here is last year's starter squad.. I think this was stronger.

Need to wait for full USA roster, but yes, appears that 2024 team was stronger than this one. Last year's USA team could have easily eliminated Czechs in the QF. I was quite worried before that game. Too bad for the US, they ran to an incredibly motivated Czech team on home soil, boosted by Pasta & Necas, also Zacha, and with Dostal in the net. It was 1-0 game, and that one goal was pretty fluky one, If I remember correctly.

I think we mean two different things by saying stacked lol. You mean in comparison to USA A Team - yes then its not stacked. I mean in comparison with other teams at this year WCH and for a WCH standarts in general and then yes Its stacked imo.

I still don't understand how Trochek, Kreider and Miller were invited to the 4 Nations tournament and Keller and Thompson were not invited? It was their big mistake.

Yes.. that is exactly what we are not agreeing on.lol. What stacked means relative to the tournament or nation.

For sure they could win gold. For sure they will have a good tournament.

BUT this is the C team.lol. Keep in mind I'm a huge swayman fan and I watched tage whenever kulich was 1C and him and peterka are magic. Still can't figure out how kulich didn't get more secondary assists being in that line.lol

They are ridiculously deep. On paper.. us are probably stronger than Canada! But they never win senior events... Ever. They have a curse on them similar to the Buffalo sabres.lol.

The us have to win one eventually. It makes no sense. Beautiful players. Beautiful program. Lots of money. Lots of arenas. Lots of NHL franchises to motivate future generations.

I would legit be happy for them if they won.. as long as they don't beat us on the way.lol

Some of my hot topics include Zadina, zboril Hajek, Kaut and a preference for AHL players over washed up euros.lol.

Or the U18.. I say we medal.lol

I said hypothetically for a reason lol.
And no i wouldn't be happy if they won because they think the hockey world runs through them even though they haven't won a gold medal since 96 lol
