Looking back on 2005 to 2020. This roster is tremendous by those standards.

It is so strange because all the forwards in this guess are awesome. Not one weak one or useless one. But, also, no superstar game breaker (unless Sale is becoming that). Such a strange forward group. It's amazing and not good enough at the same time.lol

Love the D but Jiricek and Badinka will be Port and Skok.lol

I think Cihar makes it.

Wouldn’t recommend that Hrabal wears a suit when the games matter.

Very impressive roster. Think that’s a real medal contender for sure.

If it helpa his glove side then I'm all for the suit.lol. I'd go with Matecha as the third goalie. The czechs seem to have improved goalie deployment. So I imagine hrabal plays almost all the games. I'm very okay with that. His glove was a work in progress though. Slovak snipers seem to light him up pretty good.

Definitely very nice group. Also 15 drafted players in this selection, 2 first rounders + 2 potential first rounders (Mrtka, Novotny) and 8 players drafted top 100. Definitely looks good on paper and looks amazing for czech standarts lol.

But as you say I doubt we will see Badinka and Jiricek there sadly.

As for CIhar I would love to see him there, but there is just no space lol, at the same time I would not kick out any of the forwards who are in this projected selection. Nice problem to have having a guy who plays 1st line in ELH and not having space for him in the team lol.

Any update on Jiricek?

I'll also add that at the Junior Level... Benak and Galvas are more than competent.lol I get the NHL may shun them.. but amongst teens their size isn't as big an issue and they both tilt ice at times.

That player list really doesn't look bad. Of course, we won't be among the biggest contenders for medals, but it certainly wouldn't be a big sporting shock if we could do it again. The last preparatory tournament gave czech hockey fans a great deal of optimism (although this time I saw almost nothing from the matches). Great praise goes to the players operating in the extra league. Such Sikora and Hradec have a certain place in the nomination and, according to Augusta, their performance is different from that of players from our junior league. With the addition of overseas players, the team will definitely have the potential to do well.

Looks like we play, in order, Switzerland, Kazakhistan, Slovakia and then Sweden.

Hoping we can get some kinds out before Sweden who I think will be a perfect opponent before playoffs as I expect them to be very good!

Crossover can be nasty though... US and Canada loom large. I think the Finn's are on a down year age group wise but they are still the Finn's and they've been better than us at this tourney for awhile now.

The problem is that Katolický has never even played in the U18 category. I can't imagine that the coach would take him to the team one category higher.
That’s a good point. It seems like they made a mistake not playing him with that team at the Hlinka to test him out. It seems to me that he’s already on the level of players like Benak, Mrtka, Novotny, despite being an age group younger.

Yeah, he looks really good and maybe he will be the best Czech player out of all the players in the years 07 and 08 (we know that there are clearly questions about Benák's physicality). And it's a really interesting group of players.
