Any thoughts on Matej Mastalirsky? Never drafted but seems to be having a productive tournament.

As I didn't really believe in the progress after the basic group (after very good performances, getting Canada as an opponent seemed downright bad luck to me), so now I think I can safely write that this is already a successful tournament. And that Augusta was right to pick the players he did. If I have to be critical of any player, it is Petr. I don't believe that if Novotný played instead, he would be worse. He is absolutely unable to assert himself on the ice and even unbelievably sloppy the situation before Canada's first goal.

Agree about jiricek.. he fired a great shot right before that pass too. He was wheeling and dealing back there and looked like a first rounder. First time I'd really noticed him all tourney. He's been good don't get me wrong but I think he's working back into form with each game. He may be our ace in the hole

D minutes ended up being fibigr, port, galvas and jiricek with the most. Husa and Dvorak were 5/6 minutes way.

Not much love for Petr around here.lol

Novotny didn't even get a shift last game. Ouch. Future is great with him IMO.

Well, good luck in the game today, I've picked the U.S to win today based on that limited but superior top end talent and the fact they have a lot of returnees and I think that will make a difference today, the experience. To beat them your overall team game has to win out but I think it's a group capable of that.

I’m a UMass grad so I have a healthy fear of Hrabal. He can win games by himself. Combine that with the fact that we seem to love shots off the high glass add I’m nervous for sure. Don’t like this matchup one bit

Time will tell.. they can smoke is 5-0 but we can beat them 4-3 IMO. We are the underdog and that suits us very well. But, no doubt, they are the fav here. And teenagers do stupid things in close games. So we need to keep it close.. get Kanata booing them and see what happens. I have no complaints.going in.

Have loved this team. We also have not trailed much in the tourney. Only Sweden to my recollection. Even Canada.. we never trailed once.

A statement game today would be lovely from him. I've only seen one goal against I didn't like.. against Slovakia. All Canada's goals were from the blue paint and rebounds and tips. I'm sure that is the USA strategy too.

Curious how the d minutes get deployed. Last time it was husa and Dvorak with the least. But coach is running them all with the 16 to 19 range. Except koci. He gets very few shifts.

Husa and Dvorak were the odd men out. Dvorak just hasn't been as good as I had hoped to be honest. I love him. I think he's great. I'm not saying he's bad but I hoped for more.
