I want to see what Marner can do on a team other than Toronto in the playoffs. I still think Matthews was the biggest issue, and JT was really terrible as well. Would be interesting to see how he does on a team with better on ice leadership. I really think Toronto ended up with a collection of guys with amazing talent but none of them have that top dog and alpha mentality hence the constant playoff meltdowns.

My money is he ends up in Detroit or Utah.

Detroit if he decides to try and stay closer to home and the Toronto area, obviously. A Debrincat-Larkin-Marner line sure would be fun to watch and they'd all compliment each other incredibly well.

Utah if he chases money as their new owner likes to make headlines so I could see them offering him a ton of bonuses. A Keller-Cooley-Marner line would also be super fun to watch.

No need to get into semantics about it. He was a PPG in the 2025 playoffs and scored over 100 points this year. You can argue anything else but thats the reality of it.

Odd how people trash Marner and idea of signing him while they then pivot to bring in a guy like Ehlers who not only is dismal in playoffs thru most of his career but also has a ton of injuries thru years already and that raises red flags given he will turn 30 during next season and wants a big longterm deal
