2025 26 Roster…too Soon

I'm only looking at Jeannot

They really don't need to add more than that, especially on the back end
I just think to Buffalo giving Skinner and Okposo huge deals, Edmonton with Lucic when they were in early McDavid days etc...its Marner or bust on the big UFAs for me, if they give Donato 1 yr 8m I couldnt care less if it solves the cap floor issue, or lesser deals like you mention

Hawks should pass on Soda, right?

He started the season well but then fell off a cliff

I think if Brossoit goes on LTIR, they should rock with a Knight/Commesso tandem

And if Brossoit is healthy, then there's still no place for Soda anyway

Are we that clear of the cap floor to buy out Brodie?
Currently the Hawks have a projected cap hit of $66,421,310 for next season

The current cap floor is $65,000,000

Buying out Brodie only reduces that by $516,667

So Chicago would still be above the floor

But I don't know if the floor will be raised next season, and if so, by how much

However this is without Chicago signing any UFAs, so they should still have no problem reaching a raised floor after signing 1 or 2 guys... or they could look to take on a contract like another Mikheyev type trade

The Brody buyout only saves $500k next year and then adds $250k the year after. We could always just send them down to Rockford. I think Arvid has shown enough this year that I would try to extend for two more seasons. Maybe 1.5 per year. Comm is not ready brossett may never play again. I’d be fine bringing back donato 4 years 4.5 mil. but if we do be nice to be able to move at least one vet. TT or BERT I’m really banking on marner and Carlee. I know that is a long shot. If we end up at 1 I take Schfaer. But I’m ok with misa, frondell hagens. In that order. Schfaer and hagens means at some point we might need to make a hockey trade. KK analytics were good last game Kaiser.

If it’s only a 3 year deal I’d be fine with them even going up to 5M for Donato. He’s seemingly been a good guy to have around.

While this was most likely a career year, I could see him having another 40-50 point season with his usage here for the next 2 years.

He plays hard just about every shift and we need more guys like that around, not less.

I've seen a lot of potential ideas for contruction of the 4 lines so where would Donato slot in? 2nd or 3rd ideally?
I guess that depends on if you can land a Marner and/or an Isaac Howard and what you want to do with Reichel...if you walk away from Donato and just give that cap to Marner you could go with something like this to start the year

Teravainen-Bedard-Marner
Howard-Nazar-Bertuzzi
Foligno-Dickinson-Mikheyev
Slaggert-Veleno-Reichel
Dach

Vlasic-Rinzel
Kaiser-Murphy
EDM-Crevier
Soderstrom

Knight
Soderblom

im not sure why people think Howard is a option. he is going back to MSU for his senior year and will be a UFA come aug 15th. if they were going to trade him my guess is it would be right at the end of his season next year so he can burn a year of his ELC. I dont see him as a option until next april. and that would only be if he wants to come. he has all the power. also he is 5-11 do we really need to trade for sub 6' forwards? also if we bring donato back and sign marner. how would people feel about a hockey trade with TT? donato marner and TT are kind of all the same player. albeit different levels. slightly undersized. AVG skaters, solid Def but not alot of Grit. high IQ and work ethic. trading TT for a player with some size.
