Speculation: 2025-26 NHL Lines & Lineup Notes Thread (as of June 14th ‘26 @ 8:00pm ET)

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Congrats to our latest Sportsbook winners - GOLD MEDAL kihei, SILVER MEDAL fish7 and BRONZE MEDAL Sammy Kat - new tournament begins today 6/15
This looks really good for the most part. Here's the changes I would make:

BOS: Minten makes team (BOS goes 14F).
BUF: Zac Jones to AHL (2 way contract).
CBJ: Fasching to AHL (2 way contract).
DET: No clue who the 13th F is. Doubt its Mazur coming off injury.
NYI: Gatcomb and MacLean make team, Engvall to AHL. Varlamov starts on IR.
NYR: Perreault makes team, Othmann to AHL.
OTT: I've seen nothing that says Jensen is definitely out to start the year. Even if he is, Yakemchuk is almost certainly going to the AHL.
PHI: 3 goalies make team including Fedotov. Gilbert, Bump to AHL. Ristolainen may be healthy.
PIT: McGroarty makes team (team wouldn't include him in social media posts if he wasn't here to stay).
TBL: Geekie makes team.
TOR: Myers as 7D instead of Thrun (more cap savings).
WSH: Miroshnichenko to AHL. McIlrath stays as 8th D.
CHI: Levshunov makes team, Allan to AHL.
EDM: David Tomasek makes team as extra F.
LAK: Burroughs makes team as 8th D, Andre Lee to AHL.
MIN: Yurov makes team.
NSH: Stastney makes team instead of Englund. Kemell to AHL. I'd leave the last forward blank because i'm almost certain they will sign someone.
SJS: Ostapchuk to AHL. Misa on team once he officially signs his ELC.
SEA: Fleury, Hayden to AHL.
UTA: 3 goalies on roster. Vanecek, DeSimone make team. Yamamoto, Lamoureux to AHL. Valimaki will be sent to AHL if healthy.
VAN: Willander makes team. Kravtsov to AHL (2 way contract).
VGK: Holtz is an extra F if he resigns.

Thanks for this! I did some but not others only because I've heard/read conflicting things on the ones I didn't do.

For the Blues, everything looks right except for a couple tweaks to the bottom-6. I’d go with.

Neighbours-Suter-Bjugstad
Toropchenko-Sundqvist-Walker
Joseph and Texier as the 2 extras

Last season, Sunny was our 3C while Texier was our 14th forward. I see no reason to assume Tex will beat out Sunny for a spot to start this season.

I expect one of Sunny/Bjugstad to be the 3RW and the other the 4C. Expect they’ll try both in both spots and go with whatever configuration seems best for the team.

Hello and welcome to a new season of line-up fun! As with every year, I'm not perfect. I built this on my own speculation plus digging around the sub-forums of your respective teams. If needs fixing, let me know and I'll follow whatever seems to be most consistent with those amongst your fanbase. I think I got all the major injuries but if I missed any, please flag.
For Colorado the only thing I would do is switch RosCo to LW and VO to RW.

Then line out Girard and just ensure Toews and Makar get double shifted... but not together.

Toews-Makar
Toews-Manson
Malkinski-Makar

Before you ask, Burns is playing 3C because the AVs bottom six sucks as much as their bottom 3 on D if either Toews or Girard is hurt. And unfortunately, Samwise... well I fear he was pierced by the morgul blade as well. He's just never healthy.

I would refrain from labelling a guy as injured unless he's confirmed out to start the regular season.

Should mark guys like Edvinsson, Hyman, Nick Jensen as on roster until it's confirmed.

At this point it's all speculation.
This weekend's Preseason games will tell us a LOT about how the Blues brass view the bottom 6. We should have a better grasp on the potential lines on Monday.

OTT: I've seen nothing that says Jensen is definitely out to start the year. Even if he is, Yakemchuk is almost certainly going to the AHL.
"Nick Jensen is currently listed as "OUT" with a hip injury, but he has started skating and is progressing ahead of schedule. While he is unlikely to be ready for the start of the NHL season in October 2025, he is expected to join the team at the latest September 28, 2025, according to Sportsnet.ca. His recovery is going well, with a focus on building strength and skating, and the team is hopeful for a return to his early-season form. "

He will miss some time, he needs some conditioning but likely to miss less time than first anticipated. I wouldnt be surprise to see Yak with a few games here and there to start the season alternating with Matinpalo but yeah Yak will spend the majority of the season in Belleville.

For the Leafs the forward line projections could use some changes, and Myers is likely the 7D again with Thrun probably getting waived.

Knies-Matthews-Domi
McMann-Tavares-Nylander
Maccelli-Roy-Joshua
Lorentz-Laughton-Robertson
Scratched: Kampf, Jarnkrok

Rielly-Carlo
McCabe-Tanev
Benoit-OEL
Scratched: Myers

Who in particular? I’ve been feverishly updating this like every like 15 minutes for weeks. Few teams are still quite unclear to me like Calgary.
Sorry you’re actually pretty bang on. Just saw a few leafs were off
