Quenneville hire has Ducks feeling 'a lot of excitement' | NHL.com
Named new coach Thursday, brings 3 Stanley Cup championships to organizationwww.nhl.com
This time next year he will be 4 and a half years into his tenure. and on his 3rd headcoach.
If they don't see a lot of growth next year I think he will be gone.
He's been good training wheels for the Gauthier/Carlsson line.I feel like Verbeek has done a largely positive job outside of coaching hires. Killorn is probably the worst signing and it's not going to cripple us, Gudas and Vatrano were good and Strome signing has been OK/fair. I think we all would have liked more for Lindholm (or at least a better player picked with that 1st), but the other trades have mostly been good to great. Finding the right coach could be what makes or breaks his career with the Ducks... if Q works out, he looks like a genius. If he doesn't, we end up Buffalo west.
Yeah, he's definitely overpaid and probably signed for a year too long, but not a terrible signing. That says something about the signings so far, and as we turn the corner, Verbeek won't have to overpay as much either. That said, I hope he's not on that line next season and the Ducks get a RW that fits better with Leo offensively. He's been good training wheels for the Gauthier/Carlsson line.
I'll take Killorn over guys like Hagelin and Gibbons, all I remember from those latter 2 is them skating in circles lol.
Strome needs to be kicked off the Powerplay to make room for Cutter though.
Makes the Q hiring make that much more sense. If I’m going down, I’m going down swinging. Give me the 2nd winningest coach in NHL history, and if I get fired for lack of results so be it, I tried. This time next year he will be 4 and a half years into his tenure. and on his 3rd headcoach.
