I thought the OUA deserved their own separate thread.

As noted in the recruit thread, McGill had a very strong recruiting class. Kept most of their roster including goaltenders. They have to considered heavy favorites for the OUA title. Note - They will be playing their home games at the Place Bell practice arena this season as the McConnell arena is undergoing renovations.

The UCup hosts Ottawa Gee-Gees should at least challenge for a top two spot in the OUA East. They did lose their top two recruits to the pros but didn't have any big loses over the past season. UQTR is not as strong this season but still have plenty of veterans. Concordia, Queens and Ontario Tech have an outside shot as well.

OUA West is definitely the weaker division. Brock and UofT should be considered the top two favorites. TMU lost some of their better players so I don't expect them to be back.

The wild West lacks the high-end teams, but it'll be the most competitive and parity-rich division in the country. Only two weekends in, and every team but one (2-1-0 Western) already has two losses. 🍿🍿🍿

Ottawa over McGill 5-1. A potential OUA East playoff matchup. The game was a lot closer than the score would indicated. GeeGees netminder Franky Lapenna (OUA East goaltender of the year last season) stopped 33 of 34. Third period was penalty filled with two game misconducts being handed out.

Just noticed: The Usports website lists Nipissing back to the east and York back to the west. I don't often use that site, but did they miss this last year or did I miss something? Nipissing has a west-baaed schedule in any event.

The OUA website has both in their correct divisions.

OUA East is jammed at the top. Four teams with 5-1 records. Concordia in first as they have not lost yet in regulation. They host McGill on Wednesday. Concordia does a pretty good broadcast.

OUA East is probably the most competitive conference in the country. With going down to 6 teans in the playoffs, you will have a good team on the outside looking in. Not to mention that if you let your guard down or feel like not competiting, RMC will take points off you or surprise you with a win

What's up with Carleton looks like they have a decent roster but we walked all over them tonight. It was only 5-1 but it could have been double that

Not sure. They also just got smoked 10-1 by Concordia.

Good win by the Thunderwolves. Hope they can finally challenge in the OUA West this season.

In the OUA West there is a three way tie for first place between Western, Brock and Guelph. Western has two games in hand. It is early but it looks like the Mustangs might be getting good again.
