God I haven't been in that arena in so long lol. Wonder if they've touched it up at all.

Tomorrow is just practices so no point in attending really. Saturday all scrimmages.

See if they invited any intriguing free agents like last year with Sinclair and Schaaf

I think Oshawa, Erie, Brampton, and Sudbury will all have the U18 pick rostered.

They renovated the blue rink last summer and it looks very well done. New boards, same glass as at PASA. They're supposed to be doing the same to the red rink at some point this summer. Not sure on exactly when though.

Nice! Hoping to make it out for at least 1or2 of the scrimmages. Be nice to see the rink again.

Was hoping it was at PASA tho to see the progress they've made on the restaurant and what not.

Speaking of Clearwater Arena, the upgrades going on there is part of a major expansion and renovation project that was scheduled to be completed in 8-10 years (6-8 years from now if on schedule). When fully completed, it will look completely different. As well as a new 992 seat NHL-sized rink built on what is currently the parking lot on the Finch side. I'm excited for it, but if it will ever be completed we'll see. I'm not sure who would play there though, maybe a Junior C team? or a new Senior team?

Interesting. Yah no clue who'd warrant that arena lol. But hopefully it gets done.

Maybe the legionnaires move there, Pat Stapleton arena is struggling to stay alive. I can’t see a junior c team moving to sarnia, junior c is pretty much only in small towns. Be hard for Sarnia to have a junior c team, junior b team and OHL team.

I'll be at the practices tomorrow, hopefully they have names on the jerseys like in the main camp. I don't wanna struggle my way through watching lol
Yah that would be ideal, lol. Let us know if anything stands out! I feel like Turcotte wants a way faster, more transition based team, especially on defence. So I wonder if that's how he'll run even the rookie practices.

Eli Zucker is interesting. 6'4" Goalie. Good U18 #s & played one game in the USHL. read the expectation is for him to be a full timer there this yr.

Dracen Campbell is an undersized D, but had a solid rookie yr in the BCHL.

handful of US highschool invites.

Nice to see Walos & Keefe as two USHL picks. Same with Gullstrand from last yr.

Notes from the Practice at Camp:
- Sgro, Sisco, Jaworski, Dunn, and Sewell in Sting equipment.
- Edmundson, Willard, and Denes I expect to push for spots come main camp time.
- Brown, Bannister, and Gullstrand are the type of players that usually the Sting would immediately sign, this time around I think it's best to start them with the Legionnaires.
- Walos is extremely skilled and loves to throw the body around at the same time, makes small area games look easy.
- I think Sheridan is someone that can step into the Sting lineup next season, a season with the Legionnaires would be beneficial for him especially.
- Team Chychrun (wore Yellow today) are my favourites to win the mini tournament tomorrow.

Some FAs that impressed me:
Emerson Jackson
Lincoln Pinarreta
Jack Bruder
James Reilly

I've always been a Denes believer. Edmundson didn't look out of place last year either. Could see them fighting to be the 12th F with Chadwick depending on any further adds.

Sewell vs Romain vs Willard will be one of the more interesting battles come camp to be the teams 7th D because the top-6 is pretty much locked in w/Solomon, Aucoin x2, Sgro, Emerton, Herres.

I really liked Gullstrand last year. Legitimately very skilled. Sadly just don't know if there's a spot for him unless he blows the doors off. I'm super intrigued by Walos.

Thanks for the insights.

I wouldn’t mind Vilho Vanhatalo. He was Katolicky’s teammate in Finland last season. He is 6’4 195, heavy wrist shot and good around the net. Shoots left but can play either wing. He is an 08 born. Should be a 3rd or 4th round pick in this years NHL draft. Him and Katolicky were buried on a very deep and talented Tappara U20 team.

Who does everyone want in the 1st round of the euro draft? Assuming it’s a forward. Would you prefer an 09 or and 08?
Perfect world they get a playmaking forward in my opinion. While we need everything, I feel like we have a drastic need for Fs who make others better/can facilitate. Even if he's smaller it's fine with me as long as he has elite skill.

Not a bad idea whatsoever if he'd be willing to come! Make our F group even bigger, add legit skill & instant familiarity for him & Simon.
