The Zacha camp is probably pretty happy to see that Nick Schmaltz signing ( 8 years 8mill per ).
This is going to be the most boring free agency period ever.
Only hope is a bunch of teams trying to make trades or maybe some unexpected RFA drama.
Hopefully Hagens comes in and helps out with that. Lot to ask I know, but unless they give Potrais another shot, he maybe be their best option.Bruins have to get another line going on offense. Mittlestadt/Zacha/Arvidsson has been carrying them.
Try Geekie - Khusy - Pasta. I don't really know what to do there, but just get Elias away from Pasta.

I would like to see Minten between Geekie and Pastrnak, maybe even Poitras. I just don't see the Bruins having the courage to demote Lindholm to the 3rd line. He's paid to be the #1C and came to the Bruins with that expectation.Bruins have to get another line going on offense. Mittlestadt/Zacha/Arvidsson has been carrying them.

Not just about courage it is also admitting that it was a bad signing, and the contract was not a plus for this team. Good to see that fans are finally waking up to that fact, took them long enough. Now I will wait to see when they wake up to the fact that Jeannot is another bad signing, with God awful terms, length, ntc and I will not even bring up the cash he is being paidI would like to see Minten between Geekie and Pastrnak, maybe even Poitras. And 3rd among forwards in pts/games played.Lindholm is 11th in EV goals and 7th in EV assists. This Elias Lindholm as a Top 6 forward experiment needs to stop. Took Vancouver all of about a month to figure it out.
To put that into perspective, Khusnutdinov has double the EV goals Lindholm does.
I'd have him as RW on a line with Minten as a shutdown line. He can still take lots of face-offs. He can still get PP time. He's killing the offensive potential of the line with Boston's only franchise forward.

Well, they both have no movement clauses, and then there is the other obstacle in the room salary, Hampus, might be done because of his knee, and maybe another offseason of rehabbing, might be a career saver, I would hope, he is a good hockey player when healthy. Elias, different story, overpaid overrated, big contract, age, just a bad signing, a buyout is possible, but that is costly, my suggestion is third line wing, then he might ask out, one can only hope just not a good hockey player, and certainly not a 1CIt will be interesting to see if Lindholm (either one) gets shopped in the offseason. I don't know anything, but I am quite sure this team will not bring back everyone who is signed for next year
Went to the game last night, unfortunately I did not see Elias and Jeannot, must have been scratched.Jeannot signing is great and if he was a UFA after this season then he'd make even more.
And 3rd among forwards in pts/games played.
Think they need to reunite the 1st and 3rd lines
Geekie Lindholm Pasta
Most of all they need to get Geekie back on the production track. It's not finding him on the 3rd line and Pasta could use another shooter to pass to.
Some people are simply against tough players and hope for them to fail. The most salary complaints are Jeannot and Zadorov. These same people love Hampered Lindholm and Lohrei. They also want to give Zacha a blank check.Jeannot signing is great and if he was a UFA after this season then he'd make even more.
Easily would get at least 4.5 mill. He’s a unique playerJeannot signing is great and if he was a UFA after this season then he'd make even more.
I'll probably get roasted here but F it: Try Poitras. He looked damned good on his last call up. Maybe it wouldn't even matter if Pasta stopped trying so hard and simplified his game a little. Lately he's been forcing too many passes and shots and it's not working.Bruins have to get another line going on offense. Mittlestadt/Zacha/Arvidsson has been carrying them.

You just don't like him. You can say it, man.Went to the game last night, unfortunately I did not see Elias and Jeannot, must have been scratched.
They'd be smart to move off of both if possible. With the additional cap space coming and a weak free agent class teams may not hesitate as much as they have in the past. I'm not sure who they target though. I'd assume salary would need to be coming back.It will be interesting to see if Lindholm (either one) gets shopped in the offseason. I don't know anything, but I am quite sure this team will not bring back everyone who is signed for next year
Jeannot, strong suit is that he hits with tremendous power, very heavy hitter, but please don't tell me that you pay someone 3.5 mil just because he can hit, there is more to the game, like actual defensive, and offensive contributions. Kastellic, is a better player and a lot cheaper. I was not one of the many who were bitching about Zadorov, and certainly he has his warts, but I think he earns his contract, I guess that kicks the tough player theory out the door. This coming from someone who went many nights to watch the big bad Bruins, not only to see their toughness, but their skill played at a high level. Some people are simply against tough players and hope for them to fail. The Jeannot signing was excellent, but people hated seeing him pummel Deslauriers so he’s overpaid.
Looking at the #s Steeves Lindholm Geekie was real effective when Pastrnak was out (102min 7gf 4ga). Could run with that and go Khusnutdinov Minten Pasta (65 min 8gf 2ga this year). Just spitballingLindholm has been a PP merchant he can stay on the PP but at EV he's been part of the problem. The numbers speak for themselves. Find another team with a forward on your supposed 1st line who is 11th in EV goal scoring, you won't find it.
I despise that "all-righty" line as well. Doesn't work. Won't find that on other teams either.
Put Geekie back with Pasta. Khusnutdinov can be the other forward on that line for now. I don't think it matters who plays C between Khusnutdinov and Geekie as Pasta is the true facilitator on that line. Geekie and Khusy can switch face-off duties depending on where the face-off is happening. Geekie the shooter, Pasta the facilitator, Khusy the complimentary piece supporting both guys.
If Geekie-Lindholm-Pasta had really worked they would have stuck with it but it didn't.
