he was being shopped all year, i think you'll see hes off to bu in the fall.Per Saxon, Burnett said he is coming back next season and Quinn and BU have not said otherwise
Who do we think will be the captain next year if Beauchesne leaves? Hopkins? Spada?
I read This article earlier on today, and thought the Generals would be a good trading partner with Guelph, As they will have to load up for the cup run and the Generals are in needs of picks +youth, the Generals have Owen Griffin a player that would fit right in with Guelph, plus The Gen's have the 1st CHL pick also U18 pick, don't know if this would ever be possible. Don't know even if the Generals/Guelph would even be thinking about this.Tony Saxon mentioned there are a number of rumoured "already arranged deals" out there. Must be some specific names mentioned as he believes we do not have enough assets available.
Anyone with insight as to some names and or teams these deals are with other than Brantford and possibly Oshawa?
I would expect we should have draft picks and players available to add 5 or 6 based on last year prices and including this year's picks.
The bigger issue is the unknown with the NCAA and AHL options the targeted players will have and may not return to the O.
I would hope the General's would trade prior to the draft as the cupboard is bare.I agree Griffin should be a target. Are the Gens willing to deal before the draft to add missing picks this year? I would want him this summer and not at the deadline.
Storm may consider flipping 1st round Import
picks depending on who they are targeting.
Crazy looking at it. No 3rd/5th and a very late 2nd followed by 2026/27 with no 3/4/5/8/9I would hope the General's would trade prior to the draft as the cupboard is bare.
Further to my previous post, with the Soo moving on from John Dean, the Storm would be smart to act on him fast. He's a smart coach that developed a system that is implemented by a few teams in our league with great success.
As stated earlier, that better than our "no system" we currently employ.
Well I wouldn’t want to go into this season with Stillman. He has no system, and our improvement over the previous year was a pitiful 10 points.I am not a fan and I am not sure Soo fans will agree he has been successful either based on their recent comments.
Seven years and never past 2nd round.
Went all in again with B Martin, C Reid, and C George plus and only squeaked by London who sold off?
Special teams bottom half of league as well.

Big blow. Now you’re going to have to use more assets to just replace him when they should be used to add. So much for only 20 year olds will leave, and then it was only going to be supper elites like McKenna, then it was high end 1st round picks like Martone. The bar keeps getting lower . Now it is essentially any NHL draft pick no matter what round no matter if they have showen they are to good for the league .A mid round NHL pick who is good but by no means has showen he is dominating the league and in his team is hosting the memorial cup was not the type of player that should be leaving.![]()

Yes. Also heard at deadline he was being shopped etc believe you were one of them mentioning that too.it was posted on here months ago that he was going, i said as much, why is this a shock?
They knew it was happening, that’s why they shopped him. Not sure what they were doing denying itYes. Also heard at deadline he was being shopped etc believe you were one of them mentioning that too.
Unfortunate for Guelph they have a big hole to climb. Have to do exceptional in the OHL draft and import draft and then sign a few free agents and a trade or two.
storm should have a busy offseason
Probably figured try and patch it up not let details leak out incase of the odd chance he changes his mindThey knew it was happening, that’s why they shopped him. Not sure what they were doing denying it
everyone knew he was leaving, he was a rental, and they coudlnt find someone to take him as a rentalwhat I don’t I understand is if he told them last year he was leaving why didn’t they trade him? Was the thinking they would convince him to come back? That he would accept a trade to a team in the offseason? I just don’t understand why they didn’t move him. Yes you probably won’t have gotten full value, but I’m sure one of the contenders would have given you a decent return for him.
