No offence but I think the team goaltending is in trouble if the ladies are getting playing time at this level

So last year Bulldogs drafted the tallest hockey player in the world, this year a female is drafted. Bulldogs sure know how to get publicly. I think there might be a good chance Sophie dresses even for one game. Currently I don’t see a clear definitive back up. That can change quickly. But even still it’s not uncommon to use 3 or 4 goalies in a yeae

shes actually not to bad, but yes, not at the ohl level, but is the best female goalies thats played aganist men

Hyman in the paper today saying he expects her in camp and to play a preseason game. If I had to beat, I say she atleast dresses for a regular season game just for the publicity. Also would not shock me if she gets into a game even in a relief situation. Just my hunch

Dravecky traded to Guelph. With all the trades and signings it is seriously like video game stuff. I’m still thinking we will be decent next year. Have to think where going forward for the first pick in the draft

With that trade and another import included in the deal do the Bulldogs go after a second 1st round import pick?

I can’t find anything on what picks we have in the import draft. CHL website of no help. Either way we have 3 open import spots. Hopefully we have some selections as the import draft is usually worked out with the agents. Brantford seems to have a good relationship with Allan Walsh who is the agent for Benak and Jiricek. Hopefully there are done Allen Walsh players he wants to send to brantford

Since Brantford is drafting 20th in the OHL draft I'm guessing you are going 3rd last in each round you draft in. I know even though Sudbury is I think I heard 13th as we have all 3 import slots taken we aren't able to draft so we are likely trying to move the pick to get extra selections next year

Yes and no. I do agree that the Hymans like the headlines. However, Karmanov was meant to be a regular part of the team, and Dravecky decided to commit and come to the OHL right before training camp. Unfortunately that made Karmanov the odd man out since Jiricek and Benak were already locks.

i dont think karmanov was ever going to be a regular, he was not good enough

Whether Karmanov played for the Bulldogs or remained with the 99ers and got called up from time to time, he was meant to be their third import. With Dravecky coming over, it pushed Karmanov out. But they did not expect Dravecky to commit last season, which is why he was a late addition (signed Sept 10).

i get there's an element of "publicity" in the selection because she's female, but i also think some aren't giving her the respect she deserves. she's a legit AAA goalie with decent numbers. nobody would call it publicity if they took a long shot on a male u18AAA goalie.

I don’t disagree her stats seem really good. Which is why I don’t think it’s far fetched we will see her dress at some point especially considering the backup is a total mystery at the moment.Perhaps they draft a goalie within the first two rounds?
