I hate to say it but we were the better team. We looked very good and were all over the place. Dvorak was amazing and kept it close. Our goalie did have some great saves and Slovaks had their chances for sure. But, it was wave after Czech wave followed by the odd Slovak counter attack. US in 12 hours! My understanding is they send a very good squad here and so does Canada. Still trying to figure this all out.lol

It was back to back for Slovakia and the Czechs had the advantage of seeing Slovakia play against USA the day before.

Last time they met the game ended in OT when Kachlir score the OT winner.

I actually think this is a very strong Czech team so I am happy with both results.

That schedule did no favors to Slovakia. It was brutal. Come in, play 2 games in 24 hours and go home. Long flight too!

Game on.. not sure if I mentioned but they are wearing the gorgeous jerseys and not the awful ones. US have always had slick jerseys.
 
Larys, who was great yesterday, back in the net. Back to back in a short span... bit surprised.

I am guessing but don't know.. winner gets Finland and loser gets Canada.

Czechs have 3 points
US have 2 points

So, basically, who ever wins.
 
US dominance has paid off... 1-0. This game might not be very close at all.lol Gorgeous shot by Abe!
 
In fairness, Czechs came on strong with several great chances.. that led to a PP.. that PP scored in about 2 seconds. Katolicky again! This kid is a beast... 6'3 so maybe looks good because he's so big but he just keeps scoring.

Kachlir with another point.. he's also been good.

Neat thing - they only do 3 lines here.. no 4th lines. It's honestly such a cool concept and the games are high flying. Shorter bench, shorter periods, shorter PP's.
 
And US scores a greasy one... not sure I'm a fan of the goal... pushed the puck and the pad in IMO. No review.. moving on.

2-1 US.
 
Larys is 6'1 and an aggressive goalie.

Another Czech PP coming in... hook on Vanecek.
 
90 second PP and Czechs spent 20 seconds behind their own net getting set up.lol They absolutley cannot gain the zone or do anything... as I type that.. Novak with a great chance.
 
Czechs with good pressure again.. US in the box again. Normally I'd say game management or something like that but all the US penalties have been blatant and a result of very good skating from the Czechs.

Same issue though.. getting setup is rough, once they do, they look good. US actually dominating their PK...

Fun thing... they kept breaking out on our PP with great skating and we ended up in the penalty box. Justice for the US!
 
OMG... what a gorgeous goal by the US... 2 seconds left in the period and the American smoked everyone in a Czech jersey.lol What a goal and what great timing! It was 2-1 with 1 second left.. now 3-1. Game probably over but it was actually a great first period. I'd be in shock if we got back in this.
 
5 to 3 USA

I felt we were better in second but the US are really great at counter attacks and some great individual skills. Kachlir is 14.

Real fun game. I think we lose but a rematch would be fine by me
