He didn’t have great or even good or OK QB play…..he had dogshit.

You dislike the player….got it.
I dislike his age and his salary. Like I said, if they could get him for under 20m a season? And no high draft picks?

All IN

WR’s fall off faster than any position (perhaps RB), so…..

Do you want to give up 30m in cap space PLUS higher draft picks to get a disgruntled player on on the downside of his career?

The CCR i know, would NOT.

So what am I missing?

I like Tee Higgins a lot and will be happy if they pursue him but this team also needs speed. Higgins is more of a contested ball catcher, which he’s elite at and we could definitely use, but outside of Terry we really don’t have anyone that can run by guys. Dyami Brown, I guess, but not consistently.
So get someone that isn’t going to be 31. He’s not Darrell Green. His legs get hurt. He doesn’t have much time life with his “speed”, IMO.

Obv I could be wrong

He “was” the Cheetah. First thing athletes lose is speed.

Dude will be 31 next season, and is owed a shit ton of guaranteed money. Contract was 3/90 w 60m guaranteed.

We can to spend assets for that? 🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻

Apparently he has an out clause in his contract that makes it basically guaranteed for only one more year. The team could release him after 2025 and owe him nothing. But as I understand it, Miami would be eating a massive dead cap hit if they trade him an they can likely only do that if he's designated as a post June 1 cut. Trading him might make the Fins eat the whole dead cap money, which means, its a big fat mess.

We should look elsewhere and let someone else take on the old DIVA WR.

We’ve seen enough of these short videos to know to Stay Away, if premium assets and cash are needed!

I wonder about Garrett Wilson.

Next year will be his 4th, so he’s eligible for an extension this summer. Maybe staying in NY doesn’t make sense for either party?

Sub 4.4 guy, great catch radius (less of a body catcher than Terry).

I know Higgins would only cost cap space, but it’s shaping up to be a colossal overpay (for an oft injured guy) based on the market.

Pierce out in LV. Another opening.

Meanwhile, Kraft is advertising the fact that they gave interviews to some black guys so everything looks A-OK wrt the Rooney Rule when they hire Vrabel like they already planned to when then fired Mayo right after the game on Sunday.

They are replacing a black coach. So they cannot be accused of not being a part of the rule.

Every new hire opportunity is a new chance to violate the rule. They're waving a big obvious flag imo.

I like this for CHI and Caleb.
I think Pete would be better than most in CHI.

On the Patriots…..is interviewing knowing you’re unlikely to hire someone (or even knowing you want to hire another candidate) a violation? I thought the point of the rule was to get these guys (and now also women) into the meetings with ownership/management/HC’s so they can show out well. Opportunity.

Agreed. If you know you have your individual, then it’s all kinda bunk anyway.

It’s not — for me — colour vs not. Mike Tomlin or Tony Dungy want new jobs (just off the top
Of my head), they get it without any other applicants.

We will see

With our draft history with wide receivers other than scary Terry, we have been pretty miserable. You could definitely talk me into trading our first round pick into an established player.

I think I would prefer defense. But we definitely need some offensive lineman with those first round picks.

I'm not worried about our (agreed) lousy history w/ 1st round WRs -- whole new regime and all that -- but there probably won't be a WR or an OL worth the squeeze when we pick.

The first round is lousy w/ EDGEs, so there could be a worthwhile guy there, or a guy like a Warren or Jeanty could conceivably slip and be available.

Wilson would be amazing if the Jets were dumb enough to let him go. If our first would do it, hell yeah -- he'd be impactful (and for just as long) as anybody we could draft. If they ask for more than that, though, I'd probably be a no. (Unless the more was an overpriced DT...)
