That was an ungodly performance by JD5.

For the second week in a row, he was the entirety of the offense. He was the only effective runner, he extends 2 drives with 4th down conversions with his legs, overcomes 2 picks to throw FIVE TDs. Four went to a couple guys who combined for 0 TDs all season.

A couple rookie plays, but he more than made up for them. Probably 27 teams in the league that wish they had our guy instead of theirs.

Winners f***ing Win! JD has that dawg in him. It really is unbelievable! So nice to have JD with the ball last!

I’m going to enjoy this. Now Caps!

Do we have to win next week to make playoffs
The Commanders have to go 0-2 and the Falcons have to go 2-0 in order for the Commanders to miss. I’d rather they just win next week because the Falcons get the Panthers and we’re in Dallas the final week of the season.

Win and they’re in next week, lose and they still control their own destiny. The win today was huge.

The other thing we all fretted about with JD was him exposing himself and not sliding well. He has become really deft at getting down safely when he needs to, but not being afraid of some physical contact when that is needed. And stretching the ball past first down line (which didn’t really happen today). He learns!

You can’t say they’re not entertaining. But Jayden really bailed Kliff out, cuz I thought the play-calling was pretty meh throughout, and when it takes your QB going backyard football on 4th and 11 to stay in the game, it’s hard to credit the scheme.

I don’t get why Kliff seems so reluctant to throw downfield early in games. He wants runs, bubble screens, flat passes to set up the vertical game, but why? Throw downfield early to loosen the D for the runs and dinks and doinks, especially since if there’s nothing there, pretty good chance JD gets chunks on his own.

Anyway, good on Crowder and Zachheaus for stepping up, and who knew Luke McCaffrey could return kicks

Before one evaluates KK just zoom out and take a look at the talent at the offensive skill positions other than JD.

Because the receivers can’t get open. It’s just a waste. I did like D Brown game today save for the fumble. Got a long ball. Was playmaking. Simple catches in the middle.

McCaffrey had a couple of good plays. Awesome on kickoffs. And missed twice by JD or he would have had a big game too. hell, even 14 had two TD’s.

The injury to Hurts bailed them out. This is a blowout if he's healthy. Certainly take it, but this is probably a 20 or 30 point game if he doesn't go down early.

Reading the in game thread with the benefit of hindsight was amusing to say the least. The level of absolutism is hysterical. I get it, it looked grim early but the Hudson from Aliens impression from so many was very funny.
