It's like Schneider goes out of his way to let O'Neill face a lefty every time he comes up. His treatment of O'Neill this year alone is enough for me to think he shouldn't be managing a major league team.

My late season Jays playoff push lasted 2 days.

I’m back on the tank train!!!

I don’t know, man. I think losing is unacceptable. I think these guys need to push to win every game. They can't have the mindset sip in that losing is ok. I’d rather they finish at .500. I want to see solid play continue and the Jays finishing on a high note. Tanking is not for me.

I want them to win too or make games competitive but in the long run losing can lead to winning. Not every team is the Dodgers, you need maximize your contention windows (peaks) and your losing years (valleys). And in one way, you maximize your contention windows by losing to obtain a higher draft pick. With a strong draft coming up, in a losing season, why not cheer for more losing if it helps you win by potentially grabbing a franchise player.

Winning right now is horseshit. It tells me the team can only win when the pressure is off. That alone speaks volumes. There’s a reason why they say don’t judge a team by the first month or last month of the season.

That’s said it is nice to see the kids playing reasonably well.

I will never cheer for more losing, but getting a higher draft pick is a nice consolation prize that makes losses a little less painful.

If the Jays roster was full of scrubs right now, I would be happy to see them lose a bunch of games. But, at this point, pretty much everyone (outside of the bullpen) is fighting for playing time next year. Winning a bunch of games based on their play is a lot more valuable than a few spots in the draft.

I guess the best case scenario for the future is probably that the rotation does well, the offense performs, the young guys take a step or two forward towards establishing themselves... and the scrubs in the bullpen who are gone in the offseason anyway keep blowing games so they get a better pick.

I hate bunts.
It was a dumb decision to ask a guy that's not been taught to bunt, to bunt with 2 on no out with a 2 run lead.

Anyway great outing by Bowden Francis. Did he just reinvent himself? If so thats great news for next year and going forward.

I’m struggling to remember a Jays pitcher having a month like this in the last 15 or 20 years.

Francis is absolutely unhittable. It’s like late 1985 John Tudor, to make an obscure reference.
Maybe Juan Guzman? Clemens?

Stroman coming back from the ACL tear in September 2015. Also Price in September aside from his very last start.

Still not quite Bowden level but they were breezing through innings.
