Jeff Blair and Kevin Barker begin the show with Jayson Stark from The Athletic to discuss Max Scherzer's Blue Jays spring training debut, how much he has left in the tank, an overall check-in with the team, what Jeff Hoffman brings to the team, and how Anthony Santander will help the Blue Jays make a push this season. Later, Philadelphia Phillies TV Analyst Ben Davis (31:02) joins the show to discuss the team's current status, fighting for roster spots, and if the team's bullpen can propel them to a long-term run.
The game was televised live free today on MLB.tv!!Is the game on TV?
Yeah he looks good but calling one of the 3-4 best pitchers of the last 10-15 years a hidden gem is always going to be funny.Max Scherzer looking good after his 2nd spring training start. He could be a hidden gem if he stays healthy.
He came out throwing heat in his first appearance, but it's been an uuuuugly spring. So Bloss seems like he might not be ready
Hidden gem meaning getting a first ballot hall of famer for cheap and if he can perform is what I meant.Yeah he looks good but calling one of the 3-4 best pitchers of the last 10-15 years a hidden gem is always going to be funny.
Did you see the sportsnet article about Roden?Nimmala and Roden with back to back bombs.
Roden's REALLY pushing for an opening day spot. I still doubt it happens, but it should.
They have way too many options to do that. If they want someone who can play CF more (assuming they don't love Lukes there, since he hasn't been there much this spring) they have Berroa, Loperfido, and Clase.Ewww, I'd hate Straw being in the opening day lineup. Gross. The guy isn't a major league caliber hitter.
Will be interesting to see who makes the opening day lineup.Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but Roden starting in CF today when they also have Berroa in the lineup feels like it might be meaningful. I reeeeally hope he makes the opening day roster.
