Listening to the radio yesterday they were talking about how long a leash Schneider has and they essentially said Atkins really can’t fire him because gm’s don’t get through three managers and keep their jobs so we are likely stuck with him for the season. Perfect
Schneider doesnt seem to be making many decisions anyway...

Rebuilds that have passed us already:

Baltimore
KC
Cleveland

Unacceptable tbh.
Baltimore started rebuilding earlier and stopped rebuilding a couple years after the Jays. They SHOULD be miles ahead of everyone given how dogshit they were for so long.

KC has been pretty good for 31 games. They also lost 96 last year. Let's maybe hold off on them.

Cleveland never actually rebuilt. They're just a weird team in a shit division.

This stuff is still pretty dumb. It was obvious when Montoyo got fired and the lineup construction and bullpen approach changed immediately that the manager does in fact have a ton of input into those decisions.

Was the first base ump even looking at Perez in that AB? He fully swung despite being HBP
Yeah, if you hold the barrel of the bat back while your hands go ALL THE WAY AROUND... that's very clearly a full swing.

Bassitt was throwing a no hitter into the 6th, finally gives up a run but these bums cant even score a run for him.

I bet our staff wishes they could face our lineup everyday. 20 game winners, the lot of them.

Blair just said on TV that the Jays have the most expensive starting rotation in the league.

Does that remind anyone of another Toronto team?

At least he hasn't consumed the power-sapping potion that the rest of the team chugged down before the season

Because he lost faith in the approach and decided to go back to his roots. Look at his 2019/2020 data, more GBs, more opposite field approach. I saw someone mention this on reddit + provided this link with Jansen’s comments speaking on this.

Gausman, Berrios, Manoah, Kikuchi, Romano, Garcia, Bichette, Varsho, Kirk, Jansen, Vlad.

The Jays have 10+ major assets to get back top dollar if we go full nuclear on a rebuild. I'd do it. Because even if Springer, Vlad, and Bichette start performing and they have .780-.790 ops type seasons, I still don't have faith they can perform in the playoffs. If the actual core isn't good, all of the supporting pieces won't make a difference. May as well rebuild.

The only thing worse then not making the playoffs is winning 83-84 games, missing the playoffs and not getting back top assets at the deadline.

Caleb made a great point post-game. These hitters do not adjust. They're up there swinging for the fences, not waiting for their pitches, making poor decisions. This team has gone 28 games scoring less than 5 runs a game, most in the league. Atkins has to be on his last legs. He banked on this lineup, and now the team is proving you can't trust his judgment.
