Hanifin: Around $7MM.
Zadorov: Third pairing d-man, $2MM per.
Skjei: Around $8MM.
Pesce: Having a down year, but Oilers will probably pay him $8MM per.
Dumba: Lucky to get $1.5MM per.
Grzelek: about the same as current, $3.5MM.
Montour: Was last season a fluke, or a sign of improvement? $5MM per.
Forsling: Pretty steady and consistent. $5MM per.

4.5 for a defenseman whos +31 and nearly 0,5 PPG without major PP minutes and playing the toughest match ups. Zito is good but not that good.

Skjei scored 18g last year and is on pace for double digit g again/ 40pts +, with little to no PP time. He’s going to want to get paid. Skjei will probably be worth the deal he gets for the majority of whatever term he gets. He’s an excellent skater and has turned into a heck of an all around D in Carolina. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him get $7M or more.

Pesce is having a down year offensively, but generally has been the same old 2nd pair stalwart defensively. I think he gets paid too, with the team ends up signing him for $6.5M+ x 7 regretting it 2-3yrs into the contract.

I think both guys will price themselves out of Raleigh.

Whoever signs Zadorov will regret the contract that he gets. It’s not that he is a bad defenceman but some GM will overpay for his size alone. He is the type of player that every team will look at and say that they could really use him. He will get many offers and there will be a bidding war.

If we look at his entire history, the one outlier was last year.

The PP isn't running through him as much anymore and he's around his usual 30+ pt season. Most Panther fans knew he wouldn't be a 70pt guy but most expected 40-50.

Last year, he had 33 PP points and this year 7. Those assists are primarily eaten up by Tkachuk and Barkov as our puck possession is now closing to goaline and into the slot to Reinhart who has 21 of the 41 PPGs scored for the Panthers this year.

Montour coming back to earth helps Zito and their contract negotiations.
Forsling is the real prize on Florida's defense. He needs 7-8 years at $6.5ish million per.
