One thing is certain after the deadline: the Rockies don’t have a clue.
I see everyone hating on the rockies deadline but besides Diaz, who didn't they trade that they should have? I feel like the roster, offensively, is good enough to be a wildcard team they just need pitching. So trading Quantrill or Gomber doesn't make sense as they need more pitching not less. As for Diaz I think they should try to resign him to platoon at C and play the Blackmon DH role.
If they can go into next season with a healthy Marquez and Freeland along with Quantrill and Gomber then their starting pitching shouldn't be the worst in the league. Feltner is looking decent as long relief, spot starter and injury protection as well. They got Dollander and Palmquist on the way who can replace Gomber and Quantrill in a year too. If they can get another top line starter to push the other down a spot and some better relievers they'd be on the bubble.
