We have brought plenty of college kids the past few years...we don't seem to get over that hump with them either. I prefer skill and talent, but this tournament is just different. Need to build a team that can handle all situations, these refs and these crowds. Some of these kids aren't ready for big roles in this setting.

I am happy a few kids are here, let them earn their way instead of being given roles right out the gate because we couldn't fill out a damn roster like years prior. This team has the best of both worlds. Proven NHL talent with top young prospects to mix in. Hopefully this is finally the mix and year to put it all together.
In '79 Brooks took 10 NCAA guys and tied Czechoslovakia 2-2 with Craig in net.
Sometimes you get a group of kids and they can play. Think 9 were on 1980 US
Olympic Team plus Mullen who was leading goal scorer.

Hopefully, for once in this tournament, our coach will make changes right from the start. Zegras line was so bad that it's time to mix it up.

In ''77 Bobby Miller and Dave Debol had just finished in the '77 Frozen Four at UNH\Michigan and lead US in scoring.

Panic button shouldn't be hit. We face this kind of stuff almost every year. I am glad we have time to work on things, tomorrow is another tough matchup. Bottom line is if that top line starts producing, the rest falls in place. Let's see what the coaching staff does, do they make some adjustments that most of us feel are needed...or do they ride it out and let these guys find their way??

They're going to get 6 blowout wins which is a major issue because they'll lose focus for the play-offs and lose again

It was essentially a 3-2 game against one of the favorites. I would have preferred a win but can't say a bit of adversity is the worst thing in the world. I would rather they learn some lessons and get progressively better. My two main concerns are goaltending and Hynes. We'll see if we can weather those.

It was a pretty close game considering the US didn't show up for the first period.

Gaudreau was horrendous. Turnover machine killed so many plays. I love that he's shown up here more than most, but he's usually been bad at this tournament. Today was more of the same.

Lyon looked uncomfortable all game. He made some nice saves, but some of those goals against were weak.

Caufield needs to hit the net. He had like a half dozen high quality scoring chances and missed the net on all of them.

Boldy was excellent, as was Werenski. Eyssimont was his typical self. Smith looked dangerous in his very limited ice time.

I have little confidence in a team coached by Hynes. But this team can play much better than they did today even with Hynes at the helm.

Right now Swayman is ahead of Oettinger.

Swayman can't keep his level when the stakes get higher. Really disappointed with his performance in the Florida series. Oettinger has a habit of letting at least one softie even when he is otherwise playing great. Maybe I'm too negative, but I'm still not completely convinced about our goalie depth. Potential names, but can they really carry the team in big games?

Of course, I have to say that in the NHL, I think the goalies allow a lot more soft goals than 10 years ago. I don't know what causes it. I don't think it's just that they're overconfident about their size, which is one of the reasons.

Relegation? They played the best team in the tournament first and lost by a goal with two empty netter.

With France, Poland, Kazakhstan and Slovakia ahead they are not getting relegated.

Slovakia should be more concerned. And they aren't getting relegated either.

Apologize in advance if you were being facetious with your post. Sarcasm doesn't always play on these boards.

Swayman has been under siege in FLA series. Boston had 8 shots early 3rd. Swayman has been Bruins best player.

It does not matter. He has conceded numerous soft goals in the last two games. When a goalie allows such goals, it is not possible to win championships.

I expect Ullmark to start Game Four.
