You can give credit to Drury for not making a bad trade, but he 100% misread the market.
Speaking completely in the context of what happened, they would have been better off giving their first to Anaheim for Henrique, and using the Wennberg package to get a winger. Drury can pat himself on the back for realizing not of the wingers on the board after Jake G deserved a FRP, but the Rangers are going to be a player short and staring at another first round playoff exit.
Of course I would have just loaded up on the defense, and paid less attention to the forwards, but what do I know.
