Is that really a twist? Isn't a twist something unexpected? Is it really unexpected when something like this is appealed?

Even with their advancement to the quarterfinals, I'm still not sure that FIFA won't level additional penalties against Canada espeially since it's looking like this sort of spying was a reular thing. In fact, I still think there's a real chance that the Csanadian women could be stripped of their 2020 gold as well. They can also now freely kick the Canadianam women out of 2024 games. They really couldn't have kicked them out during the round robin portion because that would mean canceling games and refunding tickets. However, now that the round robin is over, they can give Canada the boot and just advance the next best team and thus not have to cancel any games.

In any evrent, I would not place money on Canada being allowed to play further. And even if they are allowed to play on, I would not be surprised to see them stripped of any medal they might win.

That's not in Paris. That's NBC sports headquarters in Stamford, CT.

Great to see Canada break its total record count today. 40 years ago we were lucky to get a few medals and now we're top 10. Pretty good for a relatively small, mainly winter sport country.
Canada is also a large and wide country. In terms of where the concentration of people live, like 85% give or take, are within like 200 miles of the US border. Pretty much the size of a a province in terms of the actual land where most people live. Asking the athletes to move or you end up spreading out the resources to an east/west.
