OT: 2024 Soccer and Vancouver Whitecaps Thread

Looked like the 'caps were defending for long periods of time but some how pulled it off at the very end.

Congratulations boys.

Miami up next.

Lionel is going to be booed mercilessly during the game.

It’s going to be glorious.
You guys are funny. Messi was giving RM the business at Bernabeu where 90k people where booing him every time he touched the ball. He will give 0 f***s if he's booed.

NA fans are quite tame and well behaved compared to european ultras and south american fans. If you want to see a hostile enviroment then watch some derby from Poland, Serbia,Turkey or Greece.

Europe is tame compared to South America.

Either way, I hope he gets booed by anyone older than 12.

Yup. You get crowds chanting death threats and very graphic insults towards players (and even naming family members) in Latin America. The worst we do is chant "you fat bastard" at the keepers.

I continue to be amazed by this 2025 edition of the 'Caps. Just looks like different team than it was under Vanni.

No quit in this group. They seem to be able to shrug off deficits in games, injury woes, and keep on pressing. Really thought they were done last night against Mexican side Pumas, and were on their heels most of the night. But found a way for a last gasp goal in injury time, and are moving on in aggregate.

Obviously Miami FC will be a huge favorite in the CONCACAF semis......but how can you ever count this Caps team out?

Love that the Caps are apparently well on their way to another victory. Hate that I've only been able to watch a fraction of their games. I'll just keep refreshing the MLS page, I guess.

I couldn't watch the game, but if I'm interpreting the MLS website correctly, the Whitecaps appeared to have won the Corsi battle -- otherwise the stats were more or less 50/50. Can anyone who watched the game give a quick summary of what the actual flow of the game was?

Does the final score accurately reflect how the game was played?

The tickets for the semi final were sold out in an hour, and the cheapest tickets on the resell market are +$200.

Screw the Whitecaps and the resellers.
Can the Whitecaps do anything about it?

f*** Ticketmaster honestly. There should be a limit by how much more you can resell by.

Most were gone before Friday. Basically just upper bowl.

As a STH, it was a pain to even get additional tickets for my brother and his kids but I did.

And the crazy thing is they were not expensive.

All the people selling for 4-5 times the price can go f*** themselves.
