That seems like a pretty decent turnout for the home opener.....but I read somewhere that even if they averaged 20,000 fans a game, the franchise is still losing money.

Is the reason, player salaries; the discounted Canadian dollar, or what? I can recall the days when the Caps would get upwards of 30,000 for NASL games at old Empire Stadium. But I don't know if that number would ever be attainable at B.C. Place.

I think the most proximate reason is that they don’t own their stadium. But obviously the current weakness of the Cdn dollar doesn’t help.
