Outside of yakemchuk we may not have top 4 talent but we have a lot of guys that look like they can or will be able to play a regular shift. Which has always been a big weakness for us. 6 and 7 d that you can’t trust at all. And I think that’s still an issue.

I didn’t mention Jorian Donovan in my review. Kind of an example of alll things you see in a scrimmage being relative. I watched him in the mem cup and he didn’t look ANYTHING like he looked today. Today he was like dynamic and taking some risks. Just straight up bigger and faster than some invitees.

So expectations tempered with him and Stanley

Maybe he meant speed instead of skating mechanics itself, and everyone is just freaking out about nothing. Yakemchuk has great speed when he gets going. but he's not an elite skater.

Dave Poulin said his skating was elite and maybe the best in the draft.

He’s still 17 until September, missed next years draft by a week.

Would have been a 1st round pick next season if so.

Website says Yakemchuk was born September 5, 2005 and is 18 now. Will be 19 in September 2024. Missed next year's 2025 draft by 10 days.
It could for Yak
But the discussion was on Eliasson, if you follow the replies.

They have to be 18 before September 15
So He missed Last year (23) Draft by ~ 2 weeks.

He was one of the Older 1st yr eligible players in this year's draft. The elder classman if you will.

Eliasson on the other hand is one of the youngest in the 24 class. He is almost a full year younger than Yakemchuk,

Hoyt Stanley (108OA) selected in the 23 Draft and Yakemchuk were 2 weeks away from going in the same draft., It will be fun to track them but Yak will be fed every opportunity
