Patriots/NFL 2024 Regular Season: Part II - If the NFL season ended today, the Patriots would have the No. 4 pick in the draft

For what it's worth, I think there's some value in ownership demonstrating that in a post-Belichick world, they're not going to be reactionary and impatient.

Give Wolff and Mayo another year. Bring in experienced coordinators if you want to shake things up. Give them a chance to grow, and if things don't improve in Year 2, then you move on.

I don’t think that Mayo and Wolf will be safe because Kraft is patient. Robert Kraft can’t admit he’s wrong, nevermind twice on coach and GM.

However, Kraft is also the cheapest GM in the NFL. The vast majority of the teams problems is that he is too cheap. So hard to blame the coach and GM for that.

I got fired today or would have

I went to my gym and we were discussing the 4th and one. Stephenson is on my FF team and I was battling Lou. I wanted him to get a TD but at the time he was averaging over 5 yards a carry I believe with multiple over the LG/C so that was my hope

It didn’t work. Now the guys at gym want AVP fired for it

maybe if Maye hadn’t been in concussion protocol recently and it was a playoff game I’d feel different but as of now I’m probably going to be thrown from the club

NFL Owners have egos and they aren't going to easily admit they are wrong. Kraft isn't going to cut Mayo and Wolf loose after 1 year, regardless of whether they deserve it or not. Kraft's ego won't allow it, and they're going to lose out on potentially getting Vrabel because of it.

As for being cheap, yeah they have about $35mil in cap space, but would you really trust the current Front Office to spend that money well? With their track record? You could just as easily end up like the NY Giants, or Carolina, or New Orleans....with a shit roster and no cap space.

It’s not just this front office it’s been an issue for a decade now. This was from 2016-2023. Add 2024 still the lowest.

He is by far the cheapest owner in the league. From the lack of money spent on the roster, to the lack of spending on the facilities that has them ranked as one of the worst in the NFL by players.

This is genuinely a disgrace for Robert Kraft and this organization.

I always side with giving coaches more time. But I’m done here. Start again.

On another note, I’m a little concerned that Hunter will want to play WR instead of CB. I think he’s better at CB, but there’s more money for Wr’s.

Kind of surprised that the Cowboys are that low.

I agree that, overall, the media has been pro-Maye. But there was definitely a two week period in the summer where we were bludgeoned with, “hitch in his throw….bad feet…can’t run a huddle….unnamed source says he may be a bust”. The usual suspects pitched it hard.
Very little of this happened. The can't run a huddle and may be a bust? Maybe you and DKH were listening to Belichick.

I won't fault him for accepting a head coaching position in the NFL, but I will sure as f*** fault the organization for hiring someone who was clearly not ready for the role. Jerod Mayo might end up being a great coach in this league, but maybe he should have been a coordinator first? Guy never even called defensive plays, but now he's in charge of the whole team.

Meanwhile the OC never called offensive plays before!

What are we even doing!??!?!
As scary as this sounds if you were ranking GM, HC, OC, DC...Van Pelt is far and away best thing this organization has going from a coaching/management perspective.

Any team that doesn't at least try to use Hunter on both sides of the ball in some capacity can kiss my ass. I want to see football's Ohtani.

If you take a trip to Israel, kiss some old wall, and solicit donations for Kraft's non-profit foundation, you too might be named head coach of the Patriots some day.
