He should pick 3 or 4 media people he can trust Curran/Perry, Price, Gurigean, Reese, Breer - and the rest can have oatmeal. These 5 will control message
What on earth is this

I don't need the Patriots turning into State Run Media. Nobody is forcing Mayo to say anything at all. Belichick was a penis to the media but in the end it did work for him. The difference with that is Belichick actually won football games. I get the sense Mayo knows he can't go scorched earth on media while he continues to rack up the losses. He'll try to keep as many friends as possible for now.

What does Jerod Mayo do well? Has he gotten any better as the season has progressed? What makes anyone think he's the guy other than he's a good vacation companion, apparently?

Mayo unqualified and Kraft clueless. But wait, 2025 playoffs, times one thousand. Foxboro follies on display. Can I call the worst team in the league a laughing stock yet or maybe wait some more.

Is this the first time in nfl history that a fanbase called for the benching of a 1-win qb because they think he's going to win a meaningless game at the end of a season?

You can do the research on that one ha but do you not think it's possible Drake Maye could beat the Buffalo backups? Buffalo only a 2.5 pt favorite at the moment. I hope you're not coming at this like the Broncos wouldn't be in the same exact position if they had Maye instead of Nix. They would be.

We just want to see Elliot Wolfe trade down and get more picks so he can turn them into guys who can't play..
Speak for yourself! I do not want Wolf making these picks

He's on one of the worst teams in history.
Theres more than 2 teams that could go QB and maybe trade

Giants
Raiders
Seahawks?
Steelers?
Titans?
Jets. Could probably get their first next year to let them pick 1.

Mayo will be fine - he didn’t realize you gotta say nothing, give nothing to the media.

That will be easy - as my buddies on my home text group say his mistakes were all acting like he’s on a text chain or message board

You don’t go anywhere without mistakes - his are easily correctable

I owned one jersey it’s Vrabel’s but I am clearly on Mayo if not him

I read they weren’t winning a game before season now they win 3 or 4 and fire him

Since when was this season supposed to be a walk thru the park on a Sunday in June

The guy being quoted the most about change and treated like Reggie White is Keon White - no relationship

Keon was told to set the edge like Anfranee Jennings does so well - to force play inside

But Keon didn’t want to - he wants sacks - sacks get you paid.

Keon rent rouge went for the QB as the T gave him the inside - the back went wide where he should have been for a huge gain

Keon gets taken out and sits

They show play next night on NBC Boston Ted Johnson how White F’d up

Now he’s the spokesperson for change and because he will speak to writers they are ready to have his child. Keon White is a bitch - sure he puts in I gotta improve - but that’s text book - his real gripe is he wants to be Jason Taylor not A Jennings

Hilarious

It’s the fire, trade, dislike everyone mentality of the social media generation which was I’m sure was always there but Clark from Clearwater can now find an outlet to wand Elias Lindholm traded everyday

Shouldn't he have already learned this? He's screwed up in press conferences multiple times, but really hasn't changed his approach at all. He's spoken a number of times about the things he's going to work in the offseason, but changing his approach to the media, especially if it just means shutting up, should be something he's able to do immediately.

Having a great X's & O's strategist or motivational leader is great, but what you absolutely need is someone who can self-evaluate and learn from mistakes. That, to me, is the biggest concern with Mayo.

I'll ask you a question: what's the moment from this season that told you Mayo's the guy to return this team to contention? The moment where his great potential jumped out.

It's absolutely possible the pats win.

I've done nothing but praise maye and actually believe he and nix are VERY similar QBs. Having said that, I have no idea where the 2 would be today if they flipped teams. Most don't remember this, but at this time last year, the pats roster almost universally graded out higher than the Broncos roster. Neither qb inherited a juggernaut.

I don't see anyway to intentionally lose an NFL football game without intentionally trying to lose it.

This either makes perfect sense or it doesn't. Rather than explain myself I'd like to see what the split is on those two options.

Per Bert Breer this morning, it’s well known in NFL circles that the Patriots & Bengals are the two teams who spend the least on football operations (analytics, sports science etc). It’s about time the Kraft family starts taking heat from this fanbase for this teams failures. Add that to the news last summer the Patriots player facilities were rated near the bottom of the league.

They haven’t won a playoff game since 2018.

Too many variables to all be in on a "fix". A 3 or 4 win team is going to see a lot of change in the 53 man roster, so close to half the team isn't returning in 2025. Those guys need to play to get a job somewhere in 2025. Same with the coaches. Not all of the coordinators, position coaches, assistant position coaches will be returning.

Whether that is good enough to beat a non full strength Buffalo team, will see.

When he inherited a team I read was supposed to go 0-17 in some publications, lost Barmore, Judan, Bentley, Peppers etc and wasn’t caught with hookers or drugs

I have not changed- I expected this looking at the shit sandwich b Belichick gave him

He is an outgoing fun guy realizing now people stand around waiting to shit on you

they had 2 three areas to me

1. Develop Maye
2. Get a bottom 3 pick
3. Find out who are rats and me guys

Check, check, check

Mayo will learn from this season

I own the team i certainly bring him back

Albert Breer:

“So, I went from do it if Vrabel’s available to I’m like all options are on the table because that was so bad with that performance and to come out of it and look that way. The weird thing is, I’m almost now torn on the Vrabel thing because I think this organization has systemic issues that go beyond the head coach that need to be fixed. If you just go and have like another sham of a coaching search, another sham of a GM search and you just bring in a guy that you know, there may be issues here that do not get fixed because you did not put yourself through a full process again. Here’s the thing, they still are set-up the way they were when Bill was the coach. They need more people. They need more departments. They need to modernize the entire operation. This is a place that was based around the way one person wanted to run it, that one person is not here anymore. They need to spend and spend to build out their operation to get it up with what the Eagles are doing, with what the Ravens are doing, with what the most forward-thinking organizations like the Rams are doing… This is not a one-person problem. Jerod Mayo has not done a good job this year. Let me put that out there. Don’t let the Krafts skate on this. They deserve a healthy piece of the blame.”

They need to beat Buffalo to MATCH last season's record......and that's WITH significantly better QB play. Compare that to what the other 2-5 win teams from last season have done. All of them, with the exception of Arizona brought in new coaches as well.

This isn't 100% on Mayo, but If that's your idea of positive progress, then I don't know what to say.

End of the day, it ain’t gonna matter who coaches this team if they keep f***ing up their drafts and free agent acquisitions.

I'm not a fan of tanking on purpose. But if the cards fall where you have to, you might as well secure the #1 pick. One game ain't gonna change the long term culture of the team here, but swapping that #1 OA and still getting someone that can help and adding multiple more picks can change the team for a decade.

I was curious about this, so started digging into the numbers. Off the initial roster, 19 were new to the team (14 offense/4 defense/1 ST, 8 free agents/11 rookies). Doesn't include injured returning players (Bourne, Strange, Barmore, Takitaki, Mapu). Not sure how that compares to the average team.

That doesn't factor in snaps, so looked into that as well. 22 players played at least 10% of offensive snaps, 11 of them were new to the team. If we're just looking at the primary 11 (or a rough idea of it), it's 5 new players. 26 players played at least 10% of defensive snaps, only 6 of them were new to the team. The primary 11 on defense is a bit more difficult to distinguish. Only 1 of the top 11 in snaps was new, but that's Hawkins, who was really more of a top backup.

All of which is to say, I'm hoping we see that significant change for Year 2 of the new regime, but we didn't exactly see it in Year 1. They lost some major pieces on defense (though that's primarily due to injuries with Barmore and Bentley), but they also got a full year of Gonzalez, which makes the drop off even more stunning.

Why is Van Pelt talking to the media about who they plan on starting and playing the entire game? And isn't it curious Joe Milton is getting some first team reps if Maye is starting and playing the entire game?

They had some pretty major injuries last year.
