Trading Maye would cause a massive dead cap hit to the pats next year.

Not that I'm advocating for the insane proposal mentioned above, but it's not like Kraft is going to spend it anyway. They could've eaten $100 mil this season and still been under the cap.

Stats don't lie please show me that the Patriots record win Maye is starting is not 1-10? That's a franchise QB?

Well that's the bottom line in this business wins and losses hes 1-10.

Your right, stats done lie.....and Sanders couldn't consistently lead his team to victory against teams that were actually good.

No players-of-decade level in this draft. Hunter good but fragile. Sanders sold his fashion merc online in locker room during halftime, fraud. Trade down, draft McMillan, or Abdul Carter. Owner will try and influence first pick, get lost. Joe Milton III 'the project' collected all his practice squad money and will return next year as Joe MIlton III 'project 2'. This is how to measure progress amid the rubble.

Whats your issue with Milton? He was a 6th round pick lol

Listen I'm being serious I want them to win for them to do that they are in a good position to draft a legit number one QB and wide receiver we're both play together so they have chemistry that's how you get right back into being a contender not sticking a 1-10 QB back out there
So, you're just going to continue to ignore the examples of Hall of Fame quarterbacks that had horrible records as a rookie? After Peyton Manning went 3-13 with 37,000 interceptions as a rookie, the Colts should have traded him and drafted Tim Couch in 1999?

And what is it about Shedeur Sanders that makes him "legit" that isn't there with Maye? Because I think most analysts would argue that Maye's the better prospect. Hell, Sanders is even six months older than Maye is.

All analysts would, it’s not even in question imo

What is the worst draft situation for Patriots if they win ~ all the bad teams around them lose

There would be 9 teams with 3 or 4 wins

The 3 win teams pick 1-3 Browns, Titans, Giants

Patriots would be a 4 win team with five other teams including Jets, Raiders, Jags, Bears, and Panthers

Doubt they go to 9 but 4-9 spots are all teams with a 4-13 record

Nick Wright is an idiot. Sanders to me looks to be if not statistically the worst bust of all time, potentially the most infamous bust of all time with the gong show that will follow him.

Not sure what difference it is whether we finish first or second anyway because we're not taken Sanders although we should we're going for Hunter so the Giants and raiders need a quarterback so they would obviously take Sanders anyway

Enough

They are guaranteed a top 5 pick already....most likely 4th at worst. Giants and Titans are playing teams with nothing to play for and could very well win. If that happens Pats could be looking at top 2 pick even with a win.

And yet there are people on this board expecting an NFL team to throw a boatload of picks at NE to move up to draft him?

Those 2 points of view don’t jive…

Sports Hub stated this afternoon the worst case scenario for Pats is 4th overall. So Sanders Ward Hunter off the board. Boatload of talent on the board at 4.

Apparently there is still a scenario where the Jags can still pass the Pats regarding SOS, but it might not be likely. If they did the Pats could drop to 5th in a worst case scenario. I'm hoping the Titans or Giants win and they don't drop past 3rd.

Define a boatload. Some GM will fall in love with him and buy into the hype. An owner may see Sanders hype as a way to sell more jersey and build buzz to sell tickets.

I mean think about the stupid moves the Giants have made. They let their star running back walk because they were paying Jones $40 million to throw the ball....8 months later they released Jones (and Barkley has a chance to break the single season rushing record). Let's also not forget that Jones was take #6 overall in 2019 and some felt he was a back-up QB at best.

It only takes one team. Look what Carolina gave to the Bears to pick Bryce Young a couple of years ago....it was absurd for a 6 foot QB ( on a good day). The GM and coach wanted Stroud....Pepper wanted Bryce Young.... Owners always get their way.

Bryce Young is hilariously enough playing better than Stroud lately. Making some really impressive throws. 12 passing TD, 3 rushing TD against 6 picks since returning as starting QB. Carolina is 3-5, 4 of those losses to playoff teams and the other to Dallas. I officially declare him better than Mac Jones

I think Ward might go before Sanders tbh
