The whole draft besides the layup that Drake Maye was doesn't look great right now.

Caedan Wallace and Layden Robinson are poorly graded on pff and Ja'Lynn Polk is quite literally the worst ranked wr in the league. The other 4 picks can't even get on the field. If they're not going to spend money in free agency and want to copy "The Packer Way", it's not the best start to surrounding the young qb with talent.
Polk had some decent advanced stats early but yeah he's unplayable and probably won't see the field again this year.

Wide outs are either good right away or trash it's about 1 in 100 odds he becomes serviceable.

His roster spot next year is safe he'll just be Thornton. I'm not even sure I want to keep Boutte or Douglas around vs hit free agency it's unfathomable how bad this group is. And the OL is just as bad!

There's a study that needs to be done on coaches who would rather kick the extra point to tie the game and risk not getting the ball back because of a coin toss instead of going for two when you have momentum for the win

I actually think kicking the extra point was the smart thing to do. Yes, there was only 27 seconds left on the clock, but KC had all three timeouts. That's at least 3 plays, potentially 4, to go about 40 yards to get in FG range, where Butker is often automatic (yes, I know the weather wasn't great last night). Mahomes 13 second drive against Buffalo in the playoffs should be on every head coach's mind. I'm almost certain he would have led a scoring drive there if he needed to.

This is a completely vibes-based take, but I don't think Mahomes is nearly as scary when he doesn't have to score. The final 4th quarter drive had very little urgency because the Chiefs were satisfied making it to OT. Yeah, you're leaving it to luck of the coin toss in OT, but I'd be more comfortable with that than putting Mahomes in a pressured situation.

I think if you know you are playing a team that is better than you (like TB against KC last night), you go for 2 and try to win the game in regulation rather than take it to overtime. No way I let Mahomes get another chance to have the football. I'd rather control my own fate.

I think if you know you are playing a team that is comparable, or worse than you (like NE against TN), you kick the extra point to force OT and then take your chances there. Mason Rudolph and a 1-6 Titans team, isn't the same situation as Mahomes and an undefeated Chiefs team.

....also, if you defer the coin toss in OT, make sure you pick the end of the field with the wind at your back.

The Patriots talent pool is so bad that no one in the NFL wants the guy the Pats had available. No one of those guys was seen by teams as a player that could help them down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Hell baby
I also think they didn’t want to sell off leaders like Bourne or Jon Jones for late day 3 picks, the market wasn’t exactly a sellers one

League probably figured we are going to release Osborn

I find it hard to believe Thornton or Osborne couldn't fetch a 6th or 7th.

Then again, DHop went for a 6th. Which is wild to me.
