I wonder if this will prevent teams from creating exclusive streaming platforms. If they can’t stream out of market it is not as profitable.
Well they're not making any money off out of market streamers under the current setup anyway (beyond whatever miniscule cut of ESPN+ subscription revenue goes to NHL teams) so it comes down to what the team gets paid by their local broadcast partner vs. what they could get charging fans a monthly subscription fee and directly selling ad time.

Kind of a bummer for both Mukhamadullin and Bordeleau to miss camp injured. Tough to make the NHL without it, probably means they both start with the Cuda (especially being waiver eligible).
It opens the door for Gushchin to get an opportunity. I do like the idea of Gushchin paired with Bystedt. They seem to have a nice blend of skills that could compliment one another.

I would love if Gushchin forces his way onto this roster. This is the best opportunity he's gonna get, he better pop off in camp.
That's what I'm hoping for but certainly not expecting it. Even if he plays the best out of the guys that aren't really established, it seems like a tough fit in the lineup.

The NHL Broadcasting rights are so stuck in the 1990s. It's my least favorite thing about the NHL currently and every year nothing happens to improve it. It's even worse when you actually pay for the out of market package but because NHL Network is still relavent for some reason (Even though the channel sucks ass) those games on that channel get blacked out too. So you pay the NHL to stream the games, but most weekend day games are not on that streaming and NHL Network is only available on like 4 different services and you even need to pay another $80+ for that channel. It's stupid and the NHL is stupid for continuing that nonsense.

The NHL Network thing is annoying, but I believe (I could be forgetting since it feels like so long since there was last regular season hockey) you should be able to get the replays on ESPN+ shortly after the game is over. Unless this is one of those 48 hour things, but I think that's just local-market games. I think.

So it could work out not too terribly for you if you can avoid spoilers. (Interestingly, the old Center Ice cable package still shows NHL Network games, and you can have that without getting the NHL Network, but obviously that opens other cans of worms.)

I wonder if we're being too pessimistic about Couture. After all, he's still the captain...if he was 100% done you think they'd move the letter to someone else.
