Looking back at some of the things I missed at the ceremonies, I saw notorious drug cheat Carl Lewis being celebrated with that boat ride with 3 other great athletes. I suppose over time, it becomes a feel-good story.

Please note that Los Angeles has been considering ceremonies that travel between SoFi and Memorial Coliseum (going one direction for the Opening Ceremonies and the opposite for the closing ceremonies).

I can understand the tradeoffs involved with what Paris did. In fact, for the person screaming about the athletes going too soon… I know a lot of people really appreciated having that get broken up like it did. If you’re desperate for gaining fame during the athletes march, you’re probably not realizing how many people would rather let the sport give you fame… the march was usually time to hit the loo for most.

Thing is, what LA needs to consider… it’s not Paris. So many of the Paris landmarks are along the Seine, so that’s not something Los Angeles can match. Mind you, if they have John Travolta cruising the concrete bed of the Los Angeles River in an old T-Bird, eh…

If Lewis was tested today, all the results would be lower than the allowed amount of the traces of ephedrine found in his system.

Yes, but he was caught with 3 agents in his system. The USOC first disqualified Lewis, then reversed itself after he appealed, claiming inadvertent use, lol. Two years ago, the International Olympic Committee said tests finding ephedrine levels at 10 micrograms per millilitre or higher would be considered positive.
