It's possible they tried and Ritchie was a stumbling block. I get the feeling that Pit is going to screw this up if they keep holding out for a massive return.Kinda hoping Seravalli is wrong on the Avs not going after Guentzel
I think any rumor of Saros being available was before they went on their run.Nashville makes no sense. Hey let's go acquire Beauvillier but let's try trading Saros
I'm not advocating for trading Ritchie, but wouldn't having a long term solution for the 2C position in Mitts make Ritchie more expendable? Likewise, our defensive depth took a hit, so maybe Gulyaev increases in value from a team prospect pipeline perspective? The good news is now that we have a 2C there's literally no reason to trade him.
Chabot is excellent. and Greig is 9nly 4C temporarily and maybe 3 C.You're trading a Top-5 winger in the league for an overpaid defensemen (Chabot makes 8/year) and a C that you apparently want to play at 4C...not a great use of assets or remaining cap space. Not to mention, Ritchie could very well turn out as good as Greig. So in essence you're trading Rantanen for Chabot, which is brutal trade.
Guentzel would also then eat up all the rest of our available future assets. So you take 5 steps back to take one step forward.
I'm hindsight would.have been so simple to just keep Kadri lol. Now we traded for a worse center who is about to.make as much if not.more.Yeah I was a little annoyed earlier by thinking of how if we just signed Kadri we could have kept Bo as well. Definitely two of my favorites and were so huge in our cup run, I will forever love them.
I don't think this board was going to make it to Friday, did you read this thread before the trades yesterday?
Considering they were in a ton of rumors around him yesterday and the leaders apparently at some point, it's hard to think they're out of it. Teams circle back.Kinda hoping Seravalli is wrong on the Avs not going after Guentzel
Like he would know. He certainly didn't on the 2 moves the Avs made yesterday. (he should have checked this forum)Kinda hoping Seravalli is wrong on the Avs not going after Guentzel
No...that's not the way you do it. Essentially, this gives the Avs the luxury of letting him develop at his own pace without the need to try and hurry him along. If at some point he's 20-21 and too good for the AHL... then you have a nice problem on your hands and you can make a decision at that point but it's 2-3 years away and by no means a sure thing... even though he's looking great so far.I'm not advocating for trading Ritchie, but wouldn't having a long term solution for the 2C position in Mitts make Ritchie more expendable? He’s nursing a hangover.@henchman21 are the Avs still after a D from the great white north? Or did that slot get filled?
It's filled. Avs clearly wanted to ensure they had proper depth, and they got it with Walker.@henchman21 are the Avs still after a D from the great white north? Or did that slot get filled?
off course they doSeravalli says a lot of teams have interest in Callum Ritchie but he is a complete non-starter untouchable for the Avs
Is he a rental and should the Avs re-sign? Is this another Manson where we should let him go?It's filled. Avs clearly wanted to ensure they had proper depth, and they got it with Walker.
Rantanen for Chabot is something the Sens wouldn't do.You're trading a Top-5 winger in the league for an overpaid defensemen (Chabot makes 8/year) and a C that you apparently want to play at 4C...not a great use of assets or remaining cap space. Avs get Ullmark for nothing and Pens lose Guentzel for nothing? What about Ullmark to the Avs (with some retention by a 3rd team)
Lindholm to Boston
Guentzel to Vancouver

I'd re-sign Walker... he's not a big physical D that wears down nearly as quickly. I don't think he has more than 3 years of similar level play left in him (I expect a Toews like regression to happen), but he can add a lot during those years and those are the most critical for this core.Is he a rental and should the Avs re-sign? Is this another Manson where we should let him go?
Huh! Are you a wolf?wooooooooooo
