Friedman said it was between Carolina, NYR and Colorado for Guentzel

I want Guentzel. f*** it. Remember how good winning the cup felt as a fan? I legit wasn’t even mad when they lost to Seattle last year because I was still in my glory from the previous June. That’s how awesome Stanley cups are.

Go try to do it again. Gabe is coming back whether his body is ready or not. Put it on the line again.

Part of me wonders if they'd go after Guentzel because they know Landy won't be ready.

I'm going to say this - and it's not going to be a popular opinion but IF the Avs trade Goolash + a 1st for Guentzel, I would not be surprised to see them sign him long-term in the $8.5M - 9M range and trade Rantanen when he still has 1 year left on his contract rather than pony-up the $11-$12M or more on a long-term contract that he'd likely want.

I had the same thought. Especially if he really clicks.

Anyone know where Friedman said this? Want to hear it for myself
He was a guest on TNT before the Sabres Leafs game and did say Avs were in on Guentzel but didn’t think they could make it work
