Great Sweeney must be targeting one of these 3 players:

Trevor Connelly, Tri-City (USHL)

  • Position: LW
  • Height: 6-1
  • Weight: 156 lbs
Connelly is the most polarizing prospect in this draft class. He excels in transition, as his nifty pair of mitts helps him weave through defenders with grace, and his superb skating gets him to accelerate around his opposition. His offensive ability is dynamic, but Connelly comes with multiple red flags about his character, including issues with teammates and an alleged incident with racial slurs. From a hockey standpoint, he's a sure first-rounder who could go in the top 15, but his extra baggage may drop him far down the round.

Sacha Boisvert, Muskegon (USHL)

  • Position: LW
  • Height: 6-2
  • Weight: 176 lbs
Sacha Boisvert may be more of a project, but the tools are there with the Muskegon center. His shot stands out above all of his other skills, but he also has a strong touch with the puck and can get creative when needed. At 6-2, he has the height NHL teams are looking for, but he needs to fill out a bit more if he's going to find success in the pros. The North Dakota commit scored 36 goals in the USHL this season, which is no easy task.

Leo Sahlin Wallenius, Vaxjo (J20 Nationell)

  • Position: D
  • Height: 6-0
  • Weight: 176 lbs
Leo Sahlin Wallenius is a solid two-way option who is one of the smoother skaters in this class. He uses his fluidity to be a one-man breakout but also can utilize his feet to get back and close gaps on defense. The Swede has a lot of traits that should translate well to the NHL, as he isn't afraid to jump up in the rush to provide offense.

Connelly is going to be the best player available there by far but Neely probably wouldn't want to deal with the controversy again.

He'll also need 5 years to get to the point where he doesn't look like a hockey stick with a wig.

Exciting player, though, with eye opening quick twitch reactions.

Bosivert certainly fits the profile they're looking for, might need a little more runway developmentally but he's smart so who knows?

Beaudoin, and Letourneau are both very interesting and polar opposites. Beaudoin might be the more Frederic/Beecher type.

Stiga is intriguing, but he is small, and they have tended to avoid small over the last 15 years

I haven't looked at the other ones, but read the one for Hage and tell me that wasn't written by an AI with a screwdriver run through it's motherboard.

Now that we have a first round pick I am going to suggest Andrew Basha.

1. Just for the name. I mean, come on, Basha The Bruin. He gonna basha you. I could go all day on that.
2. He plays like a Bruin.

There are lots of guys all ranked around the same though. Nice to actually have a pick.
kids got hands and a motor that won`t quit, haven`t had the chance to see him live but a few times on TV, noticeable for sure but I`m horrific at placing where a kid`s draft position would and should be

Was so checked out on this years draft. Need to start reading up on people now lol
I think that was most of us. So far, I like the idea of Beaudoin. Big, physical center with upside.

EJ Emery seems like he could be Sweeney's guy. Big, right shot d-man, NCAA player. Checks a lot of the boxes he likes.

Going to be a local boy (going to Boston College) and looks like a little bit of a reach at 25, so we might have a winner lol
