Hypothetical talk: Do you think there's any world where a team picking before us would accept a package of defense prospects to swap picks? I know whatever team that gets 1st isn't moving it, but do you think a deal could be done with a team like the Coyotes/Jackets/Sharks/Blackhawks?

Like let's say if the Blackhawks are picking 3rd and know they want a defenseman and are equally high on 2 or 3 of them, is there any chance they'd drop back 2 or 3 spots(knowing we're going forward) if it means they get something along the lines of Harris+Engstrom/Barron/Konyushkov/etc...

Demidov ain't going to last till sixth or seventh if he repeats this morning's work.

He very well might last that long due to being a slightly undersized winger who more importantly is Russian and playing in Russia. It is entirely plausible that Celebrini, the consensus top 5 Dmen and Lindstrom go ahead of him as GM's love their Dmen and their big centers. Demidov may end up closer to Catton when it is all said and done.

I am a fan of his game and from my limited viewings I could certainly get behind seeing him as a Hab and think we have a decent chance of seeing him fall to us if we are in the 5-8 range.

I am also a big fan of Helenius who looks so much like Nick Suzuki at the same age and would be a perfect fit in our lineup.

From my point of view, if those 6 are the forwards in a top 6, we are the same exact team we have been for the last 30 years that’s starved for offense.

Please, let’s break that mold shall we?
Im not saying its gonna be a top offense in the league but i think you underrate the potential of this offense big time if you compare it to what we had the last 30 yrs.. Theirs still some question marks but we have a real 1st line for the 1st time in forever, Dach can be an amazing 2C like 65-75pts possession monster, you somehow add one 30-30 winger and complete the 2nd line with either newhook or Roy and your in good shape

1st/2nd line isn’t important when you have talent, they play similar minutes. It’s the right mix of players that clicks together. Demidov is the type i’d want to play with Caufield, though, he’s a play driver who would give the occasion to CC to position himself to shoot. Incredible at bringing the puck in high danger spots.

Caufield needs to play on an exploitation line and if Suzuki is going to match up against the top lines and D pairings as he has this season Caufield is going to struggle and be a defensive liability.

:slaugh: Demidov 1 with the epic over the top celly what a legend,

Galchenyuk Suzuki and Dach most exuberant cellies rolled into 1. Quite the feat 😍

Man just hit every single emote he could. He probably tea bags people on Fortnite.
We don't need a 120 pts forward??? Lol
We don't need MacKinnon or Kucherov right? Those players have no place in our lineup.

-2 of the 4 game breakers have never hit 40 pts in a season.
-3 of the 4 game breakers have never hit 60 pts
-NONE of the game breakers have been PPG over a full season

We need gamebreakers more than anything. They will make the roster better.
Youre being ridiculous. Necessity is the definition of "need". No, there is no necessity for such a player, there's 3-4 teams that have such a player and they don't win it every single year. Vegas, STL, Boston, LA are all teams that won without such a player. Id add Washington too but I don't wanna debate Ovechkin at that point of his career.

Parekh Goal - 15:07
Parekh Assist - 5:32

lots of Parekh in the vid not shift by shift by close to it, the play he makes at 15:07 right before his goal was nice.

If anyone wants to know why he's got so many points, 5:32 is a good example lmao. God he pushes the play.

Yeah, I guess depending on who's there and who wants what and what we give. I can't remember the last time a team actually traded down in the top 5-10.

It all comes down to game breakers; there aren’t any in those top 6’s. Only AK27 would fit that description.

Sure there’s a potential and growth component to the current projected top 6, but if we look at the big teams out there, we are once again lacking that part. Comparisons do not flatter our current O, we don’t win without that game breaker IMO.
This offense is gonna be in the same mold as Vegas and Carolina when its all said and done(unless we win Celebrini) and you can definiltely win a cup with that.

Konsta Helenius with a 3 pt game today. Jukurit leading 4-2 in the 3rd.

Demidov before Linsdtrom for me. I like both but we mostly lack that elite offensive talent while we already have Slaf and Dach as big skilled forwards.

Slaf-Suzuki-Demidov
Necas (or other via trade/UFA)-Dach-Caufield
Newhook-Beck-Roy

That's a top tier top 9 imho.

If Habs can get one of Celebrini or Demidov, even Catton. In 2-3 years, Habs will be a force in this league.

Helenius showing up big in the playoffs.

I feel he would be such a good piece to add. Of course of a potential gamebreaker like Demidov or Lindstrom is available, that is tough to pass... And I can see the argument for Catton even if I don't share that view yet.
I will be very happy with Helenius if it turns out that way.

I prefer Catton, Demidov,Lindstrom and Iginla….These are my choices with the first draft pick.

Me too Iginla is the guy I really like. I think he is very underrated prospect. He have all tools to become a 1st line player in NHL. Catton aswell. But Iginla is skilled player with great scoring ability but can play hard aswell.

If Iginla is the pick. He will be a fan favorite for sure. Everyone liked a young Gallagher, but Iginla is much more skilled and play like his father.

Dont think Lindstrom is a game breaker. Hes a physical package. Hes a lot like Cozens.

Right. I may not have expressed myself right here. He is more probably a Quinton Byfield level player at the level he is right now. So a really good player, but not quite a gamebreaker per say.

However, that size, skating and skill is a strong package that, like with Slaf, pays off above point expectations.

I guess I meant more as an overall value package, where I think a Lindstrom may be more valued by GMs than a Demidov because Demidov's gamebreaking skills, if they fall short, leave you without much of anything else.

I have looked and looked for info on Lindstrom's injury, heck he plays in the city where I live, cannot find boo on his status other than upper body injury. No return date anywhere that I can see. When he was injured they said mid Feb, since then crickets.
Finally some news. From the Medicine Hat News.
With four regular Tigers forwards out the last game of the regular season, head coach Willie Desjardins said Vasil Spilka, Cayden Lindstrom, Shane Smith and Marcus Pacheco will be game time decisions.

It'll be interesting to see how he looks coming back from injury. I want him to play good, but not so good he plays himself out of reach with our pick lol.
