If you're using a model that paints Kane as generational it's wilfully ignorant reality.
He's talking about generational prospects, like can't miss guys not necessarily generational NHLers.
Nobody would consider Kane and Eichel generational players.

I wish he would use the term can't miss than generational.

If you're averaging 1.33 players a year by definition they aren't generational.
I agree, that's why I wish he would use can't miss rather than generational.

It was a very different league when Kane was young. Imagine a scenario without context. It's like saying imagine LeBron James played Wide Receiver.
he put up 88 pts in 2010, it is not outside the realm of possibility.

And yes I'm aware that his scoring jump coincided with the actual end of the DPE not the accepted one. You ask me, the DPE lasted until 2015

From 08/09 to 16/17, Kane is 3rd in playoff scoring behind only Crosby and Malkin (Toews is 4th btw)

From 07/08 to 16/17 Kane is 3rd in regular season scoring only behind Ovechkin and Crosby.

From 17/18 to 2021/2022, before Kane's shitty season from a hip injury and this year of only playing 40ish games, Kane is 4th in scoring behind McDavid, Draisaitl, and MacKinnon.

Kane never played with his head up his ass. He was routinely a top point producer in the league for most of his career. Just behind the best of the best: Crosby, Malkin, Ovie, McDavid, MacKinnon.

Also if Kane would have not had his head up his ass early in his career he may well have been a generational point producer.
This is a really bad point, no offense, lol. Kane basically had one down year in 2011-12 when he had the wrist injury and was playing out of position. In many seasons he was doing it without a great Center at even strength to play with.

Carolina is about to send the Islanders home. So the best the Hawks can do with that Tampa pick is #19 if Vegas advances all the way to the WCF. Otherwise it stays at #20.

NYIslanders join Washington tonight, so now our TB pick will be either 19th or 20th

Vegas needs to make the Final Four to make TBs pick 19th(just like Oliver Moore was)…

I wonder though, there was a certain incident that happened and then his production took off.

I didn't say it was a definitive thing that he would have been any better but you have to wonder.

I know we should be adding size to the prospect pool, but taking a swing on Justin Poirier (5’8”; 181) with a late 2nd or in the 3rd if he’s there is real tempting. The production is fantastic and he’s one of the youngest players in this class

Lindstrom is going Top 10 based on a 35 game WHL sample size on a stacked team, I would consider that a bit of a dart throw.
Yeah, I don't love the season that the Big Forwards taken last year had this year. They're frustrating as prospects because they don't have overwhelming production in lower leagues, but you know that you're gonna need someone to make it through.

I imagine some more dart throws at big forwards will be taken. Look at Nichushkin and Rantanen, everyone needs players like that in the Top 9.

Bit of a bummer watching the U18s where the top 3 scorers are all future draft eligibles (Hagens, McKenna, Martone)
