Yeah who wants extra intel! Only on HF would an advantage be twisted into a negative. Are you a fan of this team? Or are you internalizing failure to try and satisfy your negativity?
 
Tkachuk is already a star in the NHL & Pinto & Sanderson are trending in the same direction & they are both still very young. IMO Pinto is already a top six player & will have a great offensive yr next yr, if he can stay healthy all yr. Ottawa has a lot of very good players, but they need stability in net & a bigger, tougher defence group that hit to hurt & are much harder to play against.

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Stutzle - Pinto - Goal Scoring UFA RW (to replace Giroux - if they draft Sennecke he could fit this role someday)
Ostapchuk - Greig - Giroux
Imama - Kastelic - MacEwan/Kelly

Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - UFA RD - (Tanev like RD - if they draft Yakemchuk he could fit this role someday)
Kleven - JBD/Hamonic

Korpisalo - Better Stable Consistent Backup Goalie (not sure we have a good young goalie who has #1 potential, but we need one badly)

I personally see these guys both as wingers when they break into the NHL. Sennecke could change that as he rounds out his game. He has the puck skills ; he has to bring his playmaking up to match , Lindstrom has to 6 power forward all over him.. I see him as a 1W vs a 1C . He could likely play 2C.

The “better stable consistent back up goalie” will be the starting goalie by December if he’s actually “stable and consistent”

There are always those concerns with players still in Russia, I think the even bigger factor for Silayev is how few people have seen him play live. I am guessing that he has a big range of opinion based simply on how teams value video scouting (or how adept they are at it).

Sennecke reminds me so much of a Spezza/batherson combo. Not the elite passing of Spezza at this point but the hands are crazy. I think defenseman are just more valuable especially in the playoffs but Sen is gonna be so fun to watch.

It seems that Bob's list of scouts rank Silayev highly (now #3) and I believe that Bob's rankings are probably more accurate versus all other rankings.

Bob’s rankings latest article, also breaks down the ranges most of top 15 had, ie. high as 3 low as 12
Also how many top 5, and top 10s from the scouts. Good read.

Buium has 1 vote in the top 6 9/10 in the top 10; 4/10 at 9 or 10

Dickinson has 4 in the top 6, 9/10 in the top 10; 1/10 at 9 or 10

Silayev and Levshunov have 8/10 in the top 5 , 10/10 in the top 6

Reading thru here you have to wonder what these NHL head scouts know though...

10/32 teams represented so .. A guy like Buium could have 3 or 4 teams that like him in the top 6 and if one of those teams picks in one of those spots he goes early and of course nothing is in stone... So this is not necessarily representative of where they go in the draft. I am just going off 1/10 placing him there in May. It gives you the best idea you are going to get what the NHL scouts are/were thinking when Bob collected the data.

the lists are good but honestly i doubt these scouts are giving their teams exact lists just cause bob asked for them.

why risk their unicorn dream jobs? why divulge proprietary information of your club?

imagine if one of our scouts had Karlsson in his top 5 and told bob that. and it got published and now everyone is like wtf.

Yeah 1 scout of ~ 150 scouts say karlsson is in their top 5.

So bob says one team actually has karlsson in their top 5. (Which he’s said before go different players). Nothing changes.

na i bet you everyone takes notice of that huge anomaly.

they probably ask themselves why would a scout have him that high? what are we missing or what is that scout missing?

maybe some teams do even more due diligence towards him, or maybe some teams who were hoping to get him in the late 1st or 2nd now realize the cats out of the bag and take him much higher.

lots of reasons why a senators scout disclosing that they are extremely high on Karlsson would f*** over the franchise.

Why risk it?
