That can happen in college (and juniors) hockey when you're playing against an out-of-conference foe who hasn't played against you several times.
RIT is also not very good. Number 21 in the Pairwise. They are an automatic qualifier, like how in the NCAA Men's Basketball the top seeds play random nobodies the first round.

Yeah, and also because he's an elite talent. He played really poorly in the Hockey East tournament even if it's against familiar opponents.

End of one period in the Sioux Falls nightcap, 0-0 between Omaha & Minnesota. Mavericks came within a goal pipe width - twice on the same shift - of taking a lead in the closing minutes. Omaha later made a coach's challenge on a Gophers minor penalty in the final minute, and won the challenge to get a 5 minute PP with most of it to start the 2nd..

Cornell eliminates Maine with a physical 3-1 victory. Black Bears could not score with a long 6-on-4 at the end. Big Red move on to the Springfield Regional final game vs. Denver on Saturday.

Omaha takes a 1-0 lead over Minnesota, in the 3rd minute of the second period while on a 5-minute power play.

Feel for Maine, they took a gut punch when Boija couldn't play, wonder if he has norovirus, it's going around bad up here. They never felt like they got going, couldn't use their speed. Cornell had more jump than them most of the game. Didn't think Ostman played bad but also didn't think he was great either. Cornell locked down the Nadeau's and that was pretty much all she wrote

That DU goal was textbook goaler interference. How that stood is straight-up conspiracy.
Is this carvel's burner?

End of 2, Omaha & Minnesota are tied 1-1 after the Gophers scored with 2 minutes left in the midde period.
Omaha is impressing me but Minnesota came in strong at the end up the period. Omaha is a fun team to watch, not sure if they're going to be able to withstand these Minnesota waves of offense though

The momentum has shifted, for sure.
