Could not have asked for a better Frozen Four. My team, Will Smith, and my two favorite prospects in the draft.
Michigans my team

But have enjoyed watching bc all year.

Michigan fan in me wants Michigan to win it all and join football program.

Hockey fan in me wants BC vs BU

Great effort from the Wolverines

Nazar and Brindley are both slept on so hard

What a nasty Frozen Four we have. I feel bad for people that sleep on college hockey. Unbelievable weekend of games
Dylan Duke was very noticeable to me…. Don’t hear a ton about him.

I find that the NCAA tourney so much more exciting than the CHL playoffs with the single game elimination format. Also, unlike NCAA basketball, the parity is so good… literally any team in the top 10 or so could get hot and go all the way. There’s so much pressure on these kids, especially the ones top ranked teams ones… and it is enjoyable to see who steps up their game.

There's really no argument. NCAA hockey is just straight up better than CHL hockey right now

Completely lit tournament, by far the best I've seen. I've been reading the past 4-5 pages and I agree with a lot that has been mentioned on here.

One of the big ones is how brutally bad college hockey jerseys are. It's like every school has no idea about the concept of a hockey sweater, so they just copy every single f***ing basketball kit and it is sooooooooo bad. I am not saying all of them are bad because UMass, Denver, UND, and others have some clean "Insert School Name Here" and "##" below the school's name, but too many schools are ditching logos and I don't understand why? Like there is nobody who would want that disgusting Boston University jersey with simply Boston University on the front and nothing else (not even the school emblem as a shoulder patch). It looks like it was designed by somebody who lived in a caste bureaucracy lifestyle their entire life like those blokes on Futurama.

The wordmark fad really needs to end, I don't know how you go from Michigan State's Spartan logo to just a jersey that says "Michigan State" on it like people have no idea who your school is. The best logos are ones that do not need explaining, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Red Wings, Nike, Boston Red Sox, etc. Everyone knows these logos, even super casual fans, when you need to explain something as the word front jerseys need to do, you're missing the entire point at least marketing-wise. /Rant ended.

Couldn't agree more with the uniform point. As a Pio's fan I'm pretty bummed by the current state of the jerseys for DU. Changed to a super boring logo and shifted from Crimson to such a generic looking red that like 50% of the NCAA already uses in some capacity.

So many teams now either look like NHL 24 created teams with just the city or school name printed out, or they opt for logos that look so corporate and bland it's actually depressing. Same thing is happening with European footy teams all over the place

I don't disagree that some uniforms are wholly uncreative in a domain that is begging for creativity, but I think schools default to the letting (edit: lettering) by process of elimination. The seal/emblem on a sports uniform looks very awkward; it's more suited to official letterhead than a jersey. The teams that use it look very self-serious to me. And many cartoon/animated logos and color schemes don't end up working and make jerseys look very dated quickly and in photos. So schools instead strip it down to a simple color scheme and lettering, which doesn't go wrong. You're right that if you can nail the logo and color scheme it's an awesome look, but that's easier said than done and can go very wrong if not done properly.

It's too bad, I try to get my hockey friends into the NCAA tournament but they all act like they have no connection to any of the schools. Meanwhile they'll also fill out multiple NCAA basketball brackets while not knowing who any of the players are.
Familiarity must precede fandom. Invite them to your home for a Frozen Four watch party.

Bracket betting was how the basketball side grew in the 80's. It would probably work for hockey too.

I got my friends into it through this and through showing them prospects of teams who were playing. Threw in some made up prop bets we made between us and came up with stuff like first team to score, next team to score, over/under on shots, etc. and it got their juices flowing. We do it for the Beanpot and Hockey East final 4 as well now. Only problem is now 2 of my friends became BU fans to spite me and I've now developed as much hate for them when BC plays BU as I do for BU haha

Your greatest betrayal since Eichel grew up a BC fan but went to BU?

There has definitely been a shift over the last few years towards younger, higher octane teams taking over college hockey playoffs.

This year, each of the remaining 4 teams were also the 4 highest scoring teams in the the NCAA (and 3 of the youngest 4 teams). The reason I point it out is that from 2015-2021, we had 6 straight national champions who were all outside the top 5 in scoring (some by a significant amount). But in the last few years, the finalists & champions have all started to trend towards higher scoring teams (and often younger).

That was a very tough day when he committed to BU. BC had a little consolation prize in landing Hanifin but the BC crew on the message boards when that happened were incredibly bummed. Them committing as 8th and 9th graders was a big catalyst for the changing of recruiting rules in college hockey in changing at what age players can commit and be contacted
