Could he sign an ELC if he has a good camp or would he need to be drafted first since he's only 19?

they can sign him up to a certain date and then if not signed he has to go back into the draft before anyone can sign him. We are at 44 contracts and I assume this is more for 3R so would need one heck of a camp to get an NHL contract I would assume.

For those asking,

He got good hands, great shoot, win most of his puck battle and will always compete no matter what. He receive an invitation for the Habs rookie camp back in 2021 but choose to go with the Blues since they had less depth. He had a great playoff run last playoff with 13 goals and 21 pts in 14 games playing with Justin Larose (Invited to the Rookie camp too) and Tommy Cormier (signed by TR).

He's committed with University McGill and he's going to study finance so he won't sign a deal to play with the Lions

Main camp starts after those games, so probably Monday September 16th.

I assume the rookie camp start September 9th.

Usually, rookie camp starts just two or three days before the rookie games. For example, last year, their rookie showcase started on the 15th, but their rookie camp started on the 13th (medicals).

With their rookie games against Toronto being on September 15th and 16th, my guess is rookie camp will start 12th or 13th.

I think by the 9th, we'll know the roster.

the Leafs game is on the 14th which puts rookie camp around the 12th which means….
