Fun game if you were a Kraken fan. Won 5-1. Goals by:

Melanson -> Though they seem to have credited Mietteinen
Morrison
Fibigr
Loshko
Nyman (ENG)

Melanson, Loshko, Goyette looked good and were very noticeable (in a good way). Kokko was by far the best Kraken player.

Nice to see Kokko make a big splash, think this season will be a big one for him as far as how seriously people start taking him as a "top prospect".

We were always the better side, I felt, but Kokko stepped up big time early in the 1st when we gave up some breakouts the Avs. Even the goal Kokko gave up at the end was off a rebound. Kid looked good.

On a side note, I just got an annual subscription to Flo Hockey. AHL.tv has moved over there but it looks like they also cover juniors. Hoping to make some time to follow Catton and Sale.

juniors is a separate tier league than the jr majors. WHL/OHL/QMJHL aren't part of flohockey.

Team A is by far the best group. Team C looks like the worst. Wonder why they loaded up Team A so much.

I feel like this is something I've seen before. Most of the NHL group will be together but with a few leaders peeled off to play with the kids. I think it's basically to get the NHL guys used to each other while making sure the prospects still have some veterans to learn from.

I'm thinking that your explanation explains Team C. Team B is the most interesting to me. Why those particular guys. Largely to me it looks like guys who might need to learn the system, plus a couple of long term Kraken to lead? I dunno. Weird group as well. I figure it probably has to do with focus. Team C is young guys we mostly don't know well and vet guys who may not be Kraken in the near future. I frankly don't care, but I'm glad I have something to overthink and read way too far into! YAY!

Almost every interview I hear during camp makes me think that moving on from Hakstol was the right decision. The team keeps talking about being more motivated, wanting to play with energy, which they mentioned was missing last season. Bylsma also seems to strike a good balance between hard work and levity. The players seem much more engaged and appear to be having fun, despite the hard practices they are going through.

Really interested to see how we come out of the gate this season. The first 10 games will be interesting to watch.

I agree that Bylsma seems to have more of a personality than Hak. He appears to be more fun to be around. Hopefully that translates into chemistry with his players.
