I still think LaChance's combination of size, ability and age make him a prime candidate to make the team sooner than a lot prospects in our system.

If things go well.

I hope to never see our 11th ranked prospect in any team’s NHL jersey going forward.

So we’re down to prospects who haven’t played a pro game. At eleven we’re in the shallow end of the pool

It's always interesting to see who we undervalue as fans though.

In the past lists there are a few 11-20th ranked players that have gone on to play in the NHL and do well, including Kesselring, Skinner, Marino and othes.

Copponi is my guy.

High floor and probably the highest realistic upside left on the list.

He's going to light it up at BU this year.

I think both of LaChance and Copponi get forgotten about because they're not in rookie camp or preseason. Both have shown well in college so far.

I forgot Copponi was drafted as an overager, this will be his last NCAA season. LaChance is 21 and a was a freshmen last year due to playing a couple years in the USHL. Still promising production, but in reality last season could have been his second or maybe 3rd? NCAA season.

Do the Oilers still retain LaChances rights until he decides to leave the NCAA? Or is there a age/season limit?

We have his rights until 2027, I believe. Based on a few sites I saw online.

Usually there is a bit of a flight risk with NCAA kids, but he's been to three development camps, and his dad played for a couple Canadian teams, so I think he's fine.
